not my fines?

Hi bro out there, just made a purchase a 2nd hand bike from a bike shop , transcation was made yesterday (sat).

 

i have done the documentation and pay a deposit, will be collecting the bike next week

 

i went on to cheeck for any outstanding summon of the bike and to my horror, there was indeed a $50 police fine on the bike , it was on the nov last year.

 

ques is , am i liabile for this offence even though i am not the owner at the point of offence, ques is i worried as i am the new owner and worried i have to pay for these offence.

 

i hope for any bro with similar experience can share or know of these procedures able to help..

You are not liable for the offence.

 

But you best also check the malaysian side to make sure there is not outstanding summons on the bike.

 

Because Malaysia side, wont care whether you committed those offences or not.

Very true...don't worry bout the singapore police fine, worry more bout fine outstanding across the causeway....unless u're confident of always staying on this part of the peninsular.

guys i recently bought a 2nd hand bike and find out from hdb website that there is a pending court case on this bike. am i liable to that?
