What's Motorblur?

Motoblur is a user interface developed over Android by Motorola for Motorola's mobile phones. Motoblur is a widget based system which combines various social networking portals such as Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter all in one place without the need of logging into each service separately. Feeds and data are regularly pushed to the phone from these web portals which are integrated within the home screen. Motoblur is currently on the Motorola CLIQ, Motorola DEXT and Motorola Devour.

To use the Motoblur service Motorola customers must first create a Motoblur account. When first turned on the Motorola DEXT (Orange/T-Mobile network) forces a new user to create such account, denying access to the main screen until the account is established. User account information is stored on Motorola servers for access from internet browsers and future phones.

I am still looking for a screen protector for this phone, just got it less than a week only... :)

I don't blame people who doesn't show courtesy, they just didn't get taught on how to do so.

Finally, an owner of Dext. So how is it!? The phone? Experience and lags?

For screen protectors, maybe can ask Raceshield to make it?

I would say it's quite smooth and easy to use for a beginner, the contacts part can be tricky as it relies mostly by MotoBlur, I had a hard time with that initially. Transferred my contacts from my SE P1i using its PC Suite to my pc, export it out to MS Outlook's address book 1st, then tried importing it to MotoBlur and it failed, then tried exporting it out to MS Outlook's address book and imported in, it works!

The OS hangs on me a few times but I gotta admit, it's user problem! Cuz I tapped too fast so it couldn't react! Oh ya, the tranistions are smooth... no lag so far... :)

I'm not so sure whether I can turn off data connection manually not, so far I can't, but I've set my Battery Manager's profile to "Smart mode" which helps to turn off data connection if phone idles for a certain period which can be set as well.

Physcially, I don't like the shaky feel between the top and bottom piece of the phone that makes it slides in and out. While the slider is closed, if you hold it by the bottom piece alone and do a gentle shake, you can practically feel it's kinda loose. But the weight feels good, no plasticky feel too.

Still in exploring mode currently, downloaded couple of apps and games and still having fun currently.

I bought all my accessories from ebay. Anti-Glare Screen Protectors, Rubberise case and extra batteries. Waiting time is about 2 weeks.
