Insurance and ownership issues

Hi all, a few questions regarding bike ownership and insurance.

 

I got a bike offer to take over from a colleague who's goin overseas and is selling off his super 4. I'm getting my 2A license this mid march..provided i pass it. So my question is, if he sells it to me, can i put my name as rider on insurance even though i havent received my 2A? Or is it possible that i dun get the insurance at all and i just park it first until i get my license and then get the insurance done? Is it even legal that way?

You can't put your name as a rider but you can put your name as a owner and put friend/relative with a 2A licence as a rider. Once you pass, update your insurance with you as rider and remove the friend/relative from list (if required). You may have to pay more insurance premium.
