Buying 2nd hand bike. Qstn on procedures.

The last time i bought a used bike, the seller settled everything, so i didnt really learn what was the procedure. That bike has since been scrapped and i'm looking to get another used bike.

 

I would like to ask all you dear bros, would some kind bro list the procedure to purchasing a used bike? I only know the part up to viewing the bike, negotiate the price if necessary, close the deal, pay deposit or full sum. The parts about how to transfer ownership or road tax or insurance, all this i dont know.

 

The last time i just went down to a bike shop where the bike was placed by the owner and i was given the insurance cert and roadtax and off i went with the bike.
