Come on bro, don't give up. Sonner or later you will get better, ask properly what was the problem with your changing lane, is it too fast and abrupt or what.

Guys, I failed 3 times for my lesson 2 already :'( :'( I'm starting to feel that I'm not suitable to ride already. Is this normal? My last one the instructor say changing lane got problem. They can fail me based on just that one thing? I'm so discouraged..

Yep. Dun give up!

When I was doing 4th pract, I also felt like giving up when I can't balance myself on plank. Every attempt only the front tire managed to touch the metal, then drop down le.

Everything is a matter of practice.

As a child learning to walk, you must have stumbled, crawled and cried a lot before finally learning how to walk on two legs. More recently, if you can cycle or swim, you probably drank a lot of water and got lots of bruises while learning.

Motorbiking is no different. It takes a while, but in the end, everything becomes easy, natural and intuitive - with practice. Do more RCs, do more revisions and don't sweat the failures.

I took 15 RCs and 8 road revisions before going for my class 2B. Enjoyed them all and never regretted paying a bit more to cultivate the right technique.

Been ages since I've been here and on a bike.

A few months have passed since my last lesson due to work and financial commitments, but now I'm gonna start lessons again! Am at lesson 4, but I'm kinda scared because I haven't touch bike for so long, confirm going to be bad. Any tips to make it easier? Hopefully once I get back on the bike everything will come back again..

Thank you so much, guys! Congrats Jinan on passing (and on a nice date :p )! Your words of encouragement are very helpful indeed, my next booking is at Thu, hopefully I can do everything right :( Thanks again :) !

Guns, fast cars, great guitars and awesome rides. Perfect kinda life.

Hey, dont feel discourage. Prac 2 is one of the hardest to pass because you really have to do your safety check properly. It is a prac to equip you with safety checks which is essential for your other pracs and TP. Thats why instructors will only pass those they feel is ready. So dont give up

Don't get too hung up about being a slow learner. That's a question of talent: some of us have it, some of us don't. Yet, regardless of talent or not, all who try hard will eventually pass.

Don't give up.

GOOD ADVICE! :thumb:

Wa, stress next week taking TP. Any tips? That means after e-brake go test route by yourself?

Yes, after eBrake, go test route by yourself.

Anyway, the instructor will give briefing again before the test.

Tips ah... don't look at the testers, later you may be more kan cheong. lol..

Any tips on passing prac 4? After today I think I did quite badly, lol. Couldn't get stay on the plank, knocked over a cone at slalom and stalled my engine once at ebrake area. I don't know if it's to do with me not having taken a lesson since like... september, but urgh today was horrible.

You seem to have lost confidence in handling a bike. No tips for you from me but only thing I can tell you is your bike will go where your eyes are fixated upon.

Yeah, felt a bit unstable at first but after a bit of warmup then okay le.

For plank I look far ahead at the cones for the slalom, but then usually fall off halfway. Only made it through once. Should I go a bit faster? because i wobble quite a bit on the plank.

Cheat code for newbies on plank :

1) Throttle hard as u approach the plank

2) Just before front tyre hits plank, clutch in

3) Thighs grip the fuel tank hard

4) Count 1 thousand, 2 thousand, 3 thousand... at the end of each count, tap the rear brake lightly

5) When u start to lose speed, throttle a little. If really unstable, throttle hard and get the hell off the plank. U shd manage about 6 seconds anyway.

(Caveat: Technique (2) not recommended for class 2A and above. Might clear too fast.)

Yes, after e-brake just proceed on your own.

Just in case people get too excited, the stop line there must stop, seen people see no vehicle go straight out to hit the road !

There is a stop line after e brake?

Can i check also. I received the paper (map) that shows the circuit stations and how we are supposed to do the whole thing plus circuit.

After e brake before going to road, there is one zebra crossing. My question is, which lane to go to before zebra crossing? Right or left?

- on the paper they indicate left lane. But in practice we always go to right lane. And isnt it, by theory, not right to change lane before zebra crossing?

If memory serves me right you are supposed to already be in the left lane after exiting the e-brake station. I could be wrong though. When in doubt ask the instructor. Its their job.

iirc, that is a 'turn right only' lane. So, nothing's wrong if we stay on that lane since you are turning right out.

After passing, I have since bought a new helmet. Anyone reading this and needs a helmet can have look at mine. Bought from CDC. White. L-Size. PSB Certified.

Smells as good as new! I am a clean and neat freak. I wear a head liner and sponge-clean my helmet inner liner EVERY WEEK.

Only $18. Self-collect @ Hougang. No point spending on a new helmet if you are just using it for lessons.

So after ebrake go to that lane straight? Don't have to go left lane then change?

Posted

after ebrake give way, stay on left lane. before zebra crossing zig zag lane starts, signal right then change to the 1st lane. do not change lane when u are already inside the zig zag zebra crossing.

if u change to the 1st lane after u come out from ebrake, you will have a problem with the double white line.

i meant after the e-brake, some testees when proceeding to the public road, forgot to stop at the stop line. Maybe is too eager to go straight to the road and complete the last part of the test.

My TP is in 2 weeks! Anxious and excited for it. I would really like to pass on my first attempt... I mean, who doesn't right? I've booked two road revisions and circuit revisions. I wonder if it'll be enough. Still got $50 in my CDC account.
