I am entering Singapore to work and wish to carry over my soul mate, my dear motorcycle.

I understand the fact Singapore custom tax (12% of OMV-open market values), GST (7% of landed cost(OMV and other fees) 15% registration fee will be applied.

I have bought the bike in May for SG$9600 (I have an original written contract paper in Korean, paid registration fee based on local OMV value of SG$9600)

Brand: Honda

Model: CBR 1000RR (Non-ABS model)

Manufacturing year: 2010

I would need to judge whether I have to sell it here and buy in Singapore.

1. Does anybody know where to find out know Singapore OMV value of my motorcycle?

2. Can I use my Korean purchase invoice (second hand) and its OMV value for taxation in Singapore?

All related documents can be translated with currency conversion.

3. How much does it cost to purchase CBR1000RR 2010?

Many thanks in advance.

Seb

It will be pricey to bring the bike here(transport cost.levy,tax........).

You can bring in your bike. Check with LTA similar model for the OMV for the tax.

You cannot bring the bike just like that and pay tax.

You need a permit 1st to bring in the bike If not no one will transport the bike for you. Example import license needed to bring in the bike to Singapore. if want to register bike in Singapore.

I have figure out local (singapore) carrier who does look after landing, custom declare and other stuff for me. My question is quite simple, I have purchased the bike for SG$9800 (damaged) spend 6 months and few thousand to look like new one. (I have original purchase receipt (can be translated) ) Does OMV applied from my purchase price or Singapore OMV? -custom tax (12% of OMV-open market values), GST (7% of landed cost and 15% for registration. This is quite important factor whether I have to consider to sell the bike here. thanks Doomxxx

No idea about any of that, but there is a blog by a dude who imported his Beemer from the UK to Singapore.

Lists everything which he did, transport, valuation, insurer, COE, inspection, etc. Every single step required to bring a vehicle from overseas into Singapore. Perhaps you can take a look see at that? As for OMV.....best you go check with the relevant authorities whether they will accept your purchase price or will valuate by themselves.

Extracted from the blog:

"...Need to get vehicle valued by Customs. Go to Customs Appraisal Section, Revenue House, 55 Newton Road and get a blank form “Declaration of Facts for Motor Vehicles” and their fax number to submit them. Also get the phone number of a guy in the Motor Vehicle department so you can phone him direct if you have a problem. Then assemble the following:

a. Completed form “Declaration of Facts For Motor Vehicles”

b. Certificate of Conformity (CoC if it’s a EU bike, or CIC for a Japanese bike)

c. Registration/Deregistration document (for used bike)

d. Dealer Original Sale Invoice

e. Dealer Statement of current value (for used vehicle – VERY HELPFUL!)

f. Bill of Lading (from your shipping agent)

g. Freight Papers & Invoice

h. Shipping Insurance Papers & Invoice

...

From which I assume to mean, dealer (being your dealer). You would want to contact Customs to confirm.

Information provided is as-is, no guarantee it's accurate.
