I brought my Gilera runner sp down to Ambra coz there is a leak(cooling pump leak). The Boss ask his so called "Gilera EXpert" to check for me. AFter open up he told me that the radiator pump is in the engine and need to OVERHAUL my whole engine and change the pump, total cost me $500+ (initial qoute). I check with Piaggio, they say $160 can settle liao. I told him that i dun wanna overhaul liao just 3min i left my bike @ his shop, then HE still charged me for $100 just to check the parts and fixed back the belting etc. The engine is not even opened up yet, yet he charged me $100. After I F*** the indian boss he finally agreed to reduced to $75 and told me he uses alot of grease for my belt clutch plates etc.. he is just trying to Chop u guys lor.. and i hrd that his painwork (7/10) but the price is very steep. Another thing is the shop is like "little India" he got 2 indian worker, one painter and one old man,the boss keep taking those indian language to his worker and i am not comfortable with it also... Maybe he is saying chopped him hard...

Just to add my personal experience of spray painting at Ambra.

I sent my phantom to respray. Nothing complex, just a solid coat of gloss black for the tank and fenders. I was charged $280.

It was fine initially when i collected it, with tiny scratches that he attributed to the polishing motion.

3 days later, my bike began to jerk when moving/throttling, problem being water in the tank (he had to remove some dents). It was CNY period.

He said he would clean my tank for me for free, but i have to foot the bill of towing the bike there. He told me to ride it there but the state of the bike was really un-rideable. I couldn't even get above 50km/h. I got my tank cleaned at alexandra in the end as it was much nearer to my place.

After a week, i noticed that the left side of the tank was very 'rough'. While the right side was smooth and glossy, the left side looked 'matt-ish' and uneven. I thought, okay, maybe i'm just unlucky. After all, I was recommended by Eugene from Eugene's Saddlery.

And today, about 3 weeks from collecting the bike, i discovered a bump on the tank. It seems like there is a pocket of air under it and the bump could be depressed. It's about 3cm in diameter and a very bad eyesore.

Worse still, the paint job is susceptible to water and petrol stains. A paintjob on a fuel tank that can get stained from petrol. Brilliant.

Well its just my luck, and my own experience. Gg to see what he says about all this.
