How and where can i get a carnet here in singapore ?

I am PR and resident and planning for a longer trip across countries that require carnets..

Can i get it as a member of singapore automobile association ?

Yes u may.. But its very costly.

Last i heard for a motorcycle carnet it cost SGD $15K, maybe more.

Very much costly compared to those european riders who got theirs in their country. Maybe ard 5K euro i think.

 

Do update here once u got it and how the process goes..

The cost of carnet itself is 214$. 5K/15K is the banker's guarantee which will be refundable.

Yup. Banks typically charge a percentage fee for the guarantee or letter of credit (e.g. 2% for DBS, plus additional charges), which works out to at least $300. Setting aside about $600-800 for the carnet sounds about right to me.

 

Thanks for bringing this up and to all for the info contributed. This has been very useful for me when I get down to planning my bucket-list trip to the UK. :)
