when i on the engine, the netral light is ok.

when i press the ignition switch, the light become dim and engine cannot start

i remove the seat cover and find that the starter got 'TACK TACK' when i press the ignition switch. 'TACK TACK' and no more.

no problem if i jump-start the bike.

however, if i off the engine, i can't start the engine by pressing the switch after that.

so is it the starter got problem? saw from earlier topics may be due to dirty contact, carbon, etc.

anyone can advise. thanks.

quite apparent to me its a totally flat batt.

the sound u heard is bcoz the batt has no juice to crank.

and even flat batt also can jump start - like most 2stroke kick start bikes.

i did manage to on and run the engine in the 1st place.

Only from the 2nd time when i press the ignition sw, this problem occur.

so the only way is to change the battery or

jump-start the bike and run it for some time to 're-charge' the battery?

u may be able to start 1st time u press it, but it will be weak.

when engine die n u try to start again u most prob wont be able to coz alr squeezed out all the juiced frm previous start attempt.

the only way is to change ur battery. if u had previously jump-started ur bike n rode around but still face the same problem, the batt most likely cannot hold charge anymore. ie. u need to change.

suggest u bring to a bike shop u comfortable with n let them diagnose for u. there can be other related problem too such as maget coil n rectifier, or wiring disconnected - all that leads to a batt not charging.

You could try to recharge the battery but I bet you have a dead cell and the battery will need to be replaced.

Try to charge it fully first. If the problem does not go away almost certainly it is the battery. If the problem does go away and then the battery runs down again, it may be your charging system.

How old is the battery?

Try this, with a very cheap VOM (Volt Ohm Meter), read the Voltage of your battery before turning anything on. Then read Voltage as you turn Ignition on, and see what it does as you press Starter button.

If you have drop in Voltage in any of the above your battery is suspect. Then push or jump start your bike, read the Charging Rate at your Battery. Should be above 13 Volts, 12V is low. If charging rate is ok, then you win a prize: No need to replace Charging system, only battery.

Finally you can try a Battery Load Test, most Car auto electrical shops and places that sell car batteries will have a device that will check condition of your battery under load and check the cells.
