Hi

My current ride is a GSR400 and I've it first hand.

I was wondering how frequent should we do the maintenance, ie do we send the bike for servicing once a month, every 1000 or 2000km or what?

For the past few months, I've been sending my bike for servicing every 1000km. Each time the engine oil was changed and the oil and air filters where changed on alternate 1000km servicing. Is this too much? I did a calculation on this and found that the total amount I spent on servicing my bike for one year would be higher than what I spend on my car servicing??!! :giddy:

Any bros can offer advices on this?

Thanks in advance!

This is what I usually do. I assume you had completed your run in.

Every 5000 km/3 mthly

- Changing of engine oil

- Checking of spark plug. If faulty, replace

- Checking of chain tension

Every 10000km, on top of the 5000km servicing

- Change oil filter

- Check air filter. If K&N air filter, clean it

20000km/yearly servicing

- Flush coolant

As and when needed

- Tyres

- Brake Pads

- Chain and sprockets

- Brake fluid

The above mentioned are more or less the basic stuff I do.
