Yes, I think it is a pity too. I like the bike very much. I m still looking for suitable scooter, 1 that can give me reasonable power, FC not so high, allow easy maintenance (so I can do it myself) n provides ample space under the seat for 2 normal helmets plus raincoats

I like Gilera Nexus 300, Kymco Xciting 400, Sym Maxsym 400, Honda Silverwing 400 or Yamaha Majesty 400

Lol i see...i was riding a vtec 2 before switching to silverwing and initially din quite like it...but after awhile u really luv it when u only nid to throttle and brake lol...now after more than 10 yrs i still think scooter is better.

 

Do note u can only put a full face in de underseat of xciting. Honda has the second largest underseat storage after burgman and is a twin cylinder bike. Dam smooth ride but fc not so good. Of cos each bike has their pros n cons so u nid to decide carefully. But as far as I'm concern I won't go for jap single cylinder scoot since we have other alternatives as they are overpriced to me. Paying for a silverwing is a different thing since its a twin.

 

Whatever it is I hope u find yr perfect scoot and good luck.

Ya maxsym has big storage but er... i heard ppl complaining to me abt it. Theres oso ppl changing from it tode xciting forgoing the storage. Why? I really dunno maybe u might want to do extra homework before making dat decision.

Yup... i change from xciting 300 to 400. Why issit good? Cos its easy to handle, very nimble i wud say, good pick up, reasonable fc, low maintanance and its cheaper than jap scooter. Parts is also cheaper. I oso find it aesthetically appealing to me.

 

Still if u ask me, I'd say silverwing da best cos its so smooth and very relax ride. But too heavy, more difficult to handle on low speed, expansive parts.

 

Anyway I did not say maxsym is no good but sharing wat i know only. There was a Malaysian guy I met at chong aik n he told me he regretted buying maxsym. I really lcant rembr why he say maxsym no good cos of my super bad memory. He did mentioned he wud have gotten the xciting if de agent there brought it in.

 

We nid to know there isnt best of both world and each bike will have its pros and cons. End of de day, just enjoy watever bike u choose and b a happy man lol.

a. Fuel Consumption is pretty good

b. The sitting position may be bit high, then it gives the feeling of riding a super bike specially for cornering

c. you can not deny the technology put in to building the Engine is superb. Kymco after years of making Honda Engine and also BMW scooter engine, there is value in the R&D and expertise. When they claim the Engine is Super Charged and the 400cc is almost working like 500cc I believe it after riding it.

d. I took the bike for a spin to Genting right to the top, this is the first time I ever traveled to Genting with such ease it was a piece of cake , You guys should try it to believe Xciting 400i is no slouch. It is very much spirited horse.

I overtook every car that climbed Genting mountain but this one car that kept on giving me tough time on the curves was Genting Taxi, using their old Nissan Sentra. I really envy them. Their driving skills are marvelous.

I should go more up and down the hill and do practice so I beat them as well
