Bike also comes with almost new Metzeler Interact K2 tyres - done less than 1000 km. Just passed inspection and renewed road tax up till April 2014. Very compact sportsbike that handles like a dream.

 

FAQ

 

Why selling?

I've owned it for 8 years and I feel due for an upgrade.

 

Is it reliable? I heard Ducatis break down very often !

I've been the only owner for 8 years and if it wasn't reliable, I would probably have sold it a long time ago!

 

Is it comfortable?

Very easy riding position and a very low bike. I'm 170cm and I can put both feet flat on the ground. Compact and nimble, though slightly heavy if compared to recent models.

 

Is it expensive to maintain?

I don't find it any more expensive than your regular Class 2 bikes. I service the bike every year at no significantly higher costs than Japanese/other Italian models. Parts are readily available locally or online at very reasonable costs. I only pump octane 98 petrol and recommend you do so too; the bike will travel approximately 200km on about 10-11 litres

 

How much is insurance?

I'm 32 and it costs $300+ TPFT

I have owned 2 of this beauties, no real problems... except for the master clutch pump. If replaced with a Brembo RCS, will be %500 tops. But if this one is fine after 8 years, then I guess it should be ok.

 

A yellow 749S and a 749 dark, later painted red. Linear engine power is a real treat when riding this bike. Also has the Ducati dry clutch for the classic clanging, which makes you seem more manly and appealing to the ladies.

 

Best of all this 749 comes with Termignoni that comes with this bike which is a must have for all Ducati bikes.
