Bro Vtec! My dear brother who stays nearest to me!

 

I hope everything turns out fine for your sister's operation on her wrist. Did she dislocate it while trying to break her fall when the accident occurred? At least you 2 suffered minor injuries only. Thank God!

 

Yesterday I also nearly kena from some saloon cars while pillion a galfriend. I was riding very carefully especially when with pillion rider behind me. Everytime I see the saloon cars trying to eat into my lane causing danger, I will blast my SM2 horns at them.

 

There is some much we can do with our riding skills and our bike's setup. Most of the time, we are still very much at the mercy of cars and lorries, if they choose to anyhow drive on the road. Which ultimately boils down to the cruel fact that, everything is really fated regardless of our age or bike or skills, even if we like to think otherwise.

Thanks to all brothers for your wishes and concern. I really appreciate it... To start off, I only suffered minor abrasions here and there... nothing serious. Only that my left shoulder now hurts when lift up. However X-Ray show everything ok... thank god. however my sister, 16 years old, only got her wrist broken while breaking the fall. Doctor say no need operation also can heal itself but with operation, in the future the wrist will be better. So decided to go for the op. I just came back from hospital to visit her. i feel quite bad also she over there although she never blame me...... Later going again to visit her after my quick shower....

 

So to all brothers whom are curious what happened..... here goes:

On 11/10/005 at about 1810hrs, I riding along Upper Paya Lebar Rd towards Geylang Serai (From Bartley Rd). Going to buy break-fast for me and my sis.... then upon reaching junction of Upper Paya Lebar and Airport Rd, I notice the other side of the road got 2 lanes that can turn right. 2 cars were in the inner lane, stationary position in the middle of the junction waiting to turn right. I also discovered that the traffic changed from green to amber, however I was very near the junction, and cannot stop already. So i tapped my SM2 horns twice to alert the 2 said cars that were stationary indicating of my presence. They were still in stationary position when I passed them. Suddenly, when I just about to reach the other of the junction, 1 car from the lane nearest to the centre divider(which is beside the 2 said cars) made a U-turn. I no time to break already...... The left bumper of the vehicle hit onto my right side of the bike. I was flunged forward while my bike dropped on the spot. My sis was flunged in front of me. I got up and quickly went to my sister to check her.

I was quite shocked she did not cry... So I consoled her first and asked her where she felt pains. afterwhich I took my bike from the centre lane and pushed to the side....... About this time, I very angry with the driver already.

I said to him "how u want to settle this".... he said up to you....

Then my golden question to him... "What light did u make a u-turn and did u check?"

He said that it was a red light- green arrow and then kept quiet. I shouted at him saying that when i cleared the junction it was amber! Suddenly 2 TP come to the rescue and calmed me down. So I requested for ambulance for my sister as she complained pain to her wrist.

i couldnt get a towing crew in time and the TP officers assisted me to tow back to their HQ for safe custody first while i follow my sis to TTSH.

 

So the ordeal then continue to TTSH till about 0030hrs.......

Fellow brothers take care on the road. As what roy say it's true, we are in the losing end but of course in anything there would be a certain degree of risk involved.

The doc advised my sis for a surgery for her broken wrist although it may recover it self so I heeded his advice.

 

As for the degree of damage to my bike... I really not that sure as at that moment I really didnt care much of the damage.. Was more worried for my sis. However managed to take some pics before going off in the ambulance.

Anywayz, lucky too that you have crash bars on.. Damn these type of drivers.. I can only share your sentiments.. Almost got into similar type of accident many times before.. Everytime I escaped unscathed, I thought to myself what and how will i react should I really collide with one of these drivers one day..

 

I believe TP's investigation will prevail and hope justice will be done in this light of the fasting month. May the guilty be punished and scoured to the grounds..
