upgrade ram lap

hi guys jus recently bought a acer laptop

wana upgrade e ram to 4gb(now currently 2gb)

and also graphic memory to another 895mb(now currently 128 usin geforce 8400MG)

 

how do i go abt it?go SLS?which shop u guys can recommend?thxx

 

jus checked my lap only 2 slot and the 2 slots are taken with 1gb ram each

so if i wana upgrade to 4gb can i trade in the ram of 2x1gb to the shop and get 2x2gb(+top up) btw mine supported DDR2 how much would it cost for 2xgb ram?and is there any brand i shd look out for?? much thx

GFX mem can upgrade meh? dont tink so. unless change card altogether.

 

u on XP or Vista? If using XP, dont bother abt 4GB RAMs, cant be detected one.

Yo bro, muz caution you on getting 4 GB RAM. Windows XP will only report 3GB instead of 4GB because the 1GB address space (3GB to 4GB) has been reserved by windows. This is true if you are running on Windows 32-Bit. SO I would suggest that you may want to max it at 3GB instead of 4GB. Anyway not much diff.

 

Get a 64-bit OS if you want to fully utilise 4GB and above. But 64-bit Applications are scarce.
