Main Test: 2011 Honda Crossrunner vs 2011 Suzuki V-Strom 650 vs Yamaha VXR jet ski. Honda claim that the VFR800-based Crossrunner was inspired by high powered personal watercraft (jet skis to you and I), so we did the decent thing and tested it against one. It lost. We also tested the new Suzuki V-Strom 650 as an on-road competitor to the Honda.

First UK Ride: KTM RC8R. The KTM RC8R was given a bit of a hiding on road and track by Mr John Hogan. Was he crushed? Was it crushed? Should it be crushed in a car crusher?

Feature: Traction Control They might be banning traction-control in the 2012 British Superbike Championship (they are, you know) but itâ€™s on the BMW S1000RR, the Kawasaki ZX-10R, Ducati 1198SP and Aprilia RSV4 APRC. Which works best? We tested them all.

Long Term Test BIkes: 2011 Yamaha YZF-R1, 2003 Yamaha R1 race bike, Kawasaki ZX-10R, 2011 BMW S1000RR our long term test bikes abused and rated. Both old and new R1â€™s take to the track, the ZX-10R did the Royal Engineers club track day at Snetterton and then ran out of fuel while Kenny tested the Dunlop GP Racer D211 tyres in rain, sunshine and on track aboard the S1000RR.

Main Test: 2011 Triumph Speed Triple vs 2011 Aprilia Tuono V4 APRC. Naked bike showdown between the established bruiser from Triumph and the new, V4 powered Aprilia bristling with electronics. Yes, we did some wheelies.

First UK Ride: Kawasaki Z1000SX. Is the Z1000SX a Z1000 with deeper pockets and comfier shoes or much more? We took Kawasakiâ€™s 1000cc sporty tourer to the Isle of Man to see if it could be as impressive on bumpy British roads as it was on the sunny launch.

Feature: BMW Off Road Skills We took to the dirt in Wales with Dakar racer Simon Pavey to see whether BMWâ€™s off road-styled machines had the dirt capability to match their looks. Naturally we sneaked a go on Husqvarnaâ€™s enduro bikes while we were there and promptly crashed our brains out.

Feature: The Southern 100 Thereâ€™s more to road racing on the Isle of Man than the TT and the Manx. John Hogan caught up with the people who race the Southern 100 course that certain TT legends think is too dangerous. And then we made him ride round it, just to be sure.

Long Term Test BIkes: 2011 Yamaha YZF-R1, 1998 Honda CBR900RR (Stuntpig), Kawasaki ZX10R our long term test bikes abused and rated. The Honda Fireblade stunt bike coughs into life, straight into a burnout, the ZX-10R gets a shiny Akrapovic exhaust system and the R1 gets a quickshifter, a tracker and a flat battery.

First Ride: 2012 BMW S1000RR

A week after the R1 we were back at Valencia for the launch of the 2012 BMW S1000RR. Same power, but chassis and electronic tweaks. Will the improved BMW still the others how a litre sportsbike should be made?

First launches: What? Thereâ€™s more? Yes, we were more than happy to jump on the new 2012 Kawasaki ER6N and the new new, new, completely new (apart from the BMW engine) Husqvarna Nuda and, er, assess them like the professionals we are.
