Hi guys, just bought a second hand deuville from asphoon... had unfortunate incident with e bike when discovered that e bike had fallen at parking lot to e right thus damaging both side of fairing n right mirror..made a police report as it may b a hit n run...need ur help in recommending a shop that can repair e damages n an estimate of e repair cost ?

Sorry to hear about your accident. The same thing happened to me when a car reversed into my bike at the car park at my office. Luckily someone saw the incident and the driver was willing to pay for the damage.

 

Try to pick up all the pieces of the fairing if any of it has dropped off as it will make the repair much easier. The bike shop will be able to mend back the cracks with fiber glass. Cost me about $100 for the fiber glass repair and another $700 for a full bike respray including rims and top box. May be cheaper if respray only the fairing, provided that they have the correct colour. My bike ended up a different colour from what I was expecting. My repair and respray was done at HL Cycle. Paint job was probably using a spray can and some areas had bleeding. There was no proper spray booth or oven for drying. After the spraying was done, there were a few new cracks on my fairing that was not from the accident. There were also some bolts and screws that were missing in some areas. Might be better to get a good mechanic who is able to carefully remove your fairing without further damaging it and then send it to a professional spray paint workshop. Hopefully some one else is able to recommend a better repair and respray shop.

For fairing repairs I can as usual recommend First Motor in Ubi. If one piece is beyond repair they will even make you a new one in fiberglass!

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate incident bro, same thing happened to me some time last year when i was still riding the Deauville but mine was a confirmed hit and run but nobody took down driver's car plate and the son of a ***** left a fake telephone number on my bike.

 

I spent around $500 repairing both side of the fairings and both of the black plastic below the seat at Goldhill Spray - at Ubi, near to K&T. Had them fiberglass and repaint at around 500bucks, but u have to disassemble and reassemble everything yourself as they dont provide that service. Their paintwork is very good though and alot of us have visited that shop after recommendations from our Doctor Deauville. Hope this helps!

It's spelt Deauville after a Spanish town ....

Deauville is e Town in FRANCE (not Italy), on the west coast in Brittany. The bike itself has been manufactured in Spain but will be transferred to Italy. Probably Deauvilles will start breking down as Italian bikes, a real shame

So sorry and sad to learn of your unfortunate hit & run incident which I supposed happened in Toa Payoh.

Perhaps I was a little too late passing by there, otherwise I would have caught the culprit in action.

Anyway had a chat with you on the spot and found that your damaged is quite bad.

 

I too, had a similar incident like yours in Toa Payoh too, and had learnt not to park my bike at any empty open

corner motorcycle lot which is usually prone to those "KAYU" drivers or riders unable to negotiate their drives or rides.

Luckily, for my case my deauville landed on a canvas covered motorcycle which caused a scratch on my windscreen

and a broken rear view mirror ( damaged $150 ). The rest of the other bikes fell like dominoes all the way.

Bought a new pair of shoes for my ride..... hehe

First accident in traffic after driving over 5 years in Singapore...

Of course caused by right turning car not respecting right of way!

Managed to brake almost completely, but bike tipped to the right and landed on my foot. Auch, swollen but no other damage.

Bike however in need of major fairing repair (4 pieces all cracked), but First Motor only estimates less than 200 for the fiber work. Amazing!

Painting is another matter. Apparently the price has increased from around 500 to 850 for full respray the last 1/2 year??

Other party was initially ready to settle, but changed mind and it's now an insurance claim. Wish me luck on that... although agent estimated that the chances are pretty good that they will have to pay it's still a hassle.

Now it's time to care for my poor Deauville...

 

Think I'll give her a respray, since 40% if the panels need to get painted anyway. I'm considering a really "traffic safe" color:

1. Neon green

2. Screaming orange

3. TP white

4. Low maintenance booooring silver grey

 

What do you guys think?

If I go for green or orange the bike will be quite unique for sure, and since I don't wash my bike very often, TP white may not be optimum.

On the other hand the TP white sure gets you the respect you deserve! Add a white helmet and neon green vest...
