Thanks guys, my foot is almost cured already.

Now it's time to care for my poor Deauville...

Think I'll give her a respray, since 40% if the panels need to get painted anyway. I'm considering a really "traffic safe" color:

1. Neon green

2. Screaming orange

3. TP white

4. Low maintenance booooring silver grey

What do you guys think?

If I go for green or orange the bike will be quite unique for sure, and since I don't wash my bike very often, TP white may not be optimum. On the other hand the TP white sure get

s you the respect you deserve! Add a white helmet and neon green vest...

I want to tell u to spray TP white but you will really need to wipe clean or wash your bike as frequently as possible!!!

If you can't do that, pls don't as all appeals of whiteness will not appear or will not strike out! :) :)

I think, different people have different choice of colour. I saw a brinjal Purple colour bike ...

Shunhua,

To get a Honda 08 Deauville or a 05 FJR1300?

It all depends on your own preference. As for Honda Deauville compared to FJR1300.

Both has it cons and pros. Deauville is more practical if most of the time you are only using it in Sg roads.

It has more than enough power to bring you to and fro, but if you make trips frequently along the NS highway,

then the most suitable bike will be a FJR1300 although Deauville still can make it all the way North.

Deauville is not that heavy compared to FJR1300. The setbacks with Deauville is both the side panniers tends to

be very flimsy and extra care needed when closing especially to prevent damages to the hinges.

Gas consumption wise, obviously Honda will give you better mileage ( abt 20km per litre ) compared to FJR1300.

Maintenance side, both are equally on par as it is not cheap to maintain a class 2 bike in Singapore unless you opt for

cheap OEM parts. Finally, if both bikes can be maintained well periodically, then there won't be any issues of failures or

even breakdowns throughout your ride.

Hope you do make a good choice, ride safe and live to ride.

Most of us who had several meet up sessions do agree that Hippo's Deauville is one of the cleanest, fully done up with extra accessories. Furthermore, most of the time he just laid up his bike fully covered at his place. The furthest up North if I am not mistaken, is just only a day trip to Malacca.

For those who are seriously considering a shaft driven, mid range and good consumption transport with lots of space for your barangs - barangs, then this may be a good option provided the shop owner do not jack up his resale price sky high.

This is only my views, I don't get any commissions from Hippo or the shop.....hahaha.

Wishing all bikers a Happy 2012

Haha Bro Resilience,

No problem at all as I have seen your bike on several occasions.

This is your second wife that you are contemplating of changing.............

As you probably know yours is a tourer in present , but a sports bike in disguise......lol.

Your tremendous Bike In White does resemble most Traffic Bikes where vehicles have to give way or even slow down

where you have the whole stretch of freeway to yourself.....hahaha.

During the night, your striking blue LED lights is just another head turner and attraction, but it can be dangerous at times, concentration is being focused on your lovely machine by other road users and safety by them is neglected. ( This is a setback ).

Another good point is whenever anyone travelling with you, need not have to worry about their hand phones running out of juice.

You have a charger installed which is a very good point....Great for smokers who don't carry lighters too.....lol.

Just for laugh, don't get me wrong as I don't get commission from Bro Resillence too.

Wishing everyone the very best of all in this Year 2012

Hi bro Honda Rider,

I am entralled always by your writing or thoughts expressed in supportive, factual and interesting manner.

Let me ask you openly: with a penchant for writing well, have you thought of journalism as a unforbidden path that's reserved for few.

Thank you for your humourous review of my bike - unsolicited - about my wife (bike) - it is supportive I think, and not that you are making a dig at me?. My wife (woman of my life) had said that I love my bike more than her. Of course, I swore my eternal love for her for the sake of peace and tranquility on earth!

Thank you, bro! :) :) :)

Hi bro Hippo,

Firstly, you did not ask for my review but I like to say something about your bike.

Secondly, I can only second Honda Rider's review as it was all truths about your bike.

IMO, your bike is full of evidence of pampering - lots of your personal imprints on it. If I remember what you once said, that a mistress should be pampered, hahahaa.

CAN BUY ( Hippo's bike)!!!
