Hi riding ta200,

i'm not sure if this is the correct place to post, but it can be useful for people who DIY their carb, also maybe its valid for many bikes w similar carb.

i posted within my other questions but maybe its too deep that nobody will ever bother to dig so here goes.

i would like to ask, my mechanic mentioned that my carb needle may be spoilt, so it would need a replacement. I would like to find out what is going to be changed, and what does it do.

Is this needle affected when you adjust the jetting screw for fuel-air adjustment? If it is damaged, how does the mechanic actually hear a difference when he is tuning my carb.

my problem is higher than normal fuel consumption (just buy, just realise) and need to rev a bit when start in the morning (before service no need). go back to workshop to check like 4 times till they give up and say, if replace needle still dun work, even deity cannot help. (i have already done all the mandatory servicing and lowered idle)

Cheers!
