my friend is 19yrs old, p plate.

i am 18yrs old, p plate.

 

he brought his insurance on jul`07

im taking over his bike.

 

he wanna transfer the insurance to me,

and i continue the insurance until jul`08

 

so do i have to pay the full amount or jus top the balance?

 

becos i coi his bike and the monthly payment for his insurance is included.

 

anyone who is familiar with this can help?

he cannot transfer insurance to you.. can only add you as sub-rider..

 

since you are younger, you would have to top up the premium which he has paid for the insurance.. as well as admin fees to add subrider

If you COI his bike without transfering ownership, you can only ask your friend to add you as subrider. But you have to top up abit as you are younger.

 

If you want to have the insurance under your name, you need to be the owner of the bike.

being a sub rider means your friend paid most of the cost of the insurance alr.. of cuz it'll be a better deal for you and not a good deal for your friend.. your friend wun be getting a refund of his insurance so it means you using his insurance for free if you kena any fine, your friend as the main rider will still kena because the bike still belongs to him.. you need to have an insurance under your own name to transfer the bike to you..
