Procedures on Selling and Buying number plate

Hi there,

 

will like to enquire about the above. Have seen people selling number plates many times online. I'm wondering how are the procedures like.

 

1. The seller can sell the number plate alone to another person as long as he owns the bike?

 

2. What are the procedures to sell and buy? Need to go LTA? How to remove and transfer plate?

 

3. After selling the number plate, where does the seller get a new number plate for his bike? What happens to the buyer's old plate? Do they do a mutual swop?

 

4. How fast do all these procedures take as soon as the seller finds a buyer?
