  5. There are a few options available but as add-on and DIYs. 1. Remove lower fairing cowl (permanently, but destroy bike's outlook) 2. Add tank bra (as one fellow STX has just posted, and which I did) 3. Add heat deflecting insulation below the tank and seat (which I hope to do) 4. Heat Wrap you exhaust headers (which I did) 5. Add wind deflectors (which i did) 6. Ensure proper synchronisation of your values ... (need a workshop to do it) Currently I have no issue with all those that I have done with a very much heat reduction extended upwards
  6. Thanks CS for updating The other simple thing to remember which we often forget, is to allow the ECU to prime up for a few seconds when the key is turned on, before hitting the starter. Our usual "bad" habit is to kick up the starter when the key turns on the bike. For my bike A3, allowing the ECU to prime up first will ensure the Autochoke is activated when the starter is engaged..,,, Those who are on STX can validate if my deduction is correct : ) Cheers
  7. For the IU, it is not a problem : ) A few of those who rides an STX have done it. It would either be a powerlet socket, battery pack or a direct placement vs having it placed on a bracket
  8. Hunting for an owner : )
  9. HHmmmm ... nice but not my preference : p Still prefer a touring tuned car : >

  13. Hi Folks anyone here looking for an STX ??? If you are keen to look at a 2003 one that is very well maintained (original paintwork, regularly serviced, low mileage, etc) with many extras that will influence you to extend the COE after 2013, do pm for a view : ) Cheers:cheers:
  14. Not really lah... the computer is likely to be more accurate cos they take into account warming up your bike, waiting time at traffic light or for your gal : ), and other activities when your engine is idling. For me I do both... the kiasu syndrome, and they are about there lah
  15. Hi Nic The metering is similar for Honda cars that I have own. They are the best possible average calculated based on your speed constancy, the riding style (trottling, changing gears, idling time, etc) over the journey offered by the on board computer. I usually take that as a good guage but wont want to take the risk to run out of fuel by depending on what is displayed. When it blinks, you should be in the reserve tank of about 5 litres. so if you work out your mileage/liter to be about 17-19km, than the 5 litres reserve should make you a distance of 85-95km more. : ) Cheers
  16. It's not cheap and hard to come by. You can try FJT as recommended by sambora67 Else other options would be a tank bra ($150 new, used $100-120), or studded grip from motoworld Happy hunting
