  1. Got to say that FF does have its uses! Had a skid yesterday and my chin area did slam onto the ground. The FF helmet (along with my armoured jacket and gloves) prevented a trip to the hospital as I managed to stand up with no injuries at all. Armour might not save your life in a high-speed head-on collision but I believe it can make a difference whether you have a fatal accident or a mildly serious one. Also, it prevents injuries that are completely unnecessary such as road rash. Ride safe guys!
  2. Hey guys, thanks for the concern! Bike has been sent to Ah Koon as the handlebar is bent and not in a rideable condition. I agree that no claims can be done as there were no other parties involved. Car driver did not stop though. Both of us (motorcyclists) had the right of way as he was late in entering the expressway and was already on road shoulder (left-side). Suddenly decided to cut out. Quite unexpected but I'm totally fine! There are no tears on my jacket too. Thumbs-up to Komine mesh armour jacket! On another note, I was lucky that I wear FF helmet as my chin area did slam onto the road though the FF prevented any injury to my face.
  3. Just had my first accident yesterday. Skidded on AYE near Clementi there as I was entering the expressway. Car suddenly cut in front of the bike that I was following and we both jammed brake. I reacted later so I went down. Thank God I wore armoured jacket, FF helmet and gloves because they took the full force of the impact/abrasion and I'm relatively unhurt here. Only a few scrapes on my knee. Whew!
  4. Royale Bintang has an underground carpark with 24hrs guard at the entrance. Just came back from there with my bike still intact
  5. Hello guys! I just came back from a spur-of-the-moment virgin overseas trip to KL on my trusty Phantom (who never ever failed or showed any signs of on the way!) with my friend pillioning on the back. Left Singapore yesterday at about 11am via Tuas, which made me drop helmet and gloves at Customs due to my kancheongness Realized that the toll plaza right after the Malaysian customs needed Touch N Go, which had to be purchased on the spot. Thus, I got myself a TNG card! Woohoo for future GP pump petrol trips! Stopped at Gelang Patah to pump petrol and subsequently got my finger cut due to the broken air pump. We rode on and stopped at Machap next for a much needed 'butt-break' as our bums were really sore by then. I didn't know that endurance riding could be quite difficult! Every single little quibble is magnified a thousand times after a few 100kms. We then proceeded on to Yong Peng for a much needed lunch, arriving at about 2pm. However, on the way in, we took the earlier exit, and ended up in downtown Yong Peng, completely lost! Thankfully, we spotted the highway exit and proceeded there to the usual tourist coach terminal there. We then proceeded all the way to Ayer Keroh, which on the way, I had to switch to reserve tank and arrived at Ayer Keroh Petronas with only 400ml of petrol left. Poor planning on our parts! We then proceeded up north again, but was abruptly stopped at Nilai due to a seriously heavy thunderstorm, with visibility dropping to 10m or less. Totally drenched, from shirt to underwear and socks! However, that didn't dampen our spirits and on we proceeded straight into KL. We spent a great night there, having a massage and getting approaches by pimps (!!). Do we look the sort! Had an uneventful ride back. This time, we took about a 1.5hrs less due to proper planning and strengthened stamina (much thanks to the massage we had in KL ). I had an AWESOME virgin ride into malaysia and can't wait for my next :thumb:
  6. Haha guys contact me if you guys going for a ride! But bear with me, I'm on the slow Phantom
  7. Just bought a DryMaster from Motoworld. Really fed up with the incessant downpours that Singapore is starting to have.
  8. FF helmet too alright? It's safer that way (:
  9. I wear an armoured mesh jacket, armoured gloves and FF helmet. I think my life is more important than anything else! Been really thinking about crashbars though.. I don't like how it looks, frankly! On topic, I had my one and only accident thus far when I was U-Turning on a steep slope. Crashed at about 5km/h and my signal lights were super scratched
  10. I wanna go malaysia soon man
  11. Wow this sounds like fun. Hate to have missed it
  12. Haha Corse, if you need any help riding the bikes over, feel free to approach us I'm sure we'll be more than willing to offer our help
  13. I just bought a Yamaha FF helmet for 99 at Motoworld. Very nice design!
  14. sorry guys couldn't join you all. had a leaking bike!!
  15. When I was newer, I went really slow and could achieve about 37-39km/l. Nowadays, I ride faster to avoid being tailgated and being (nearly) sideswiped by other larger vehicles. And my FC has taken a huge hit to 32km/l
