  1. Hi, I have encountered this problem personally. Same as you, the engine only died out when I stopped moving; junctions for example. Turned out mine was just the engine idling, just needed a bit of fine tuning from my mechanic and the problem went away. No charge for that tho, at Wonderful Motors. Hope this helps. Cheers, DC
  2. Hi there. The fan sound occurs whenever the bike is quite heated up. It does happen to mine as well but mostly is due to like travelling at low speeds, ie. during heavy traffic and jams. In any case, the fan sound is the bike activating the internal fan so as to cool down the engine to prevent it from overheating. No cause for worry on that!
  3. hey howllerzz.

Like you, I also got my 2B few months ago and was looking for an X9 as I've always liked that bike. Thing is, production has stopped for all 200cc Piaggio scoots so its quite hard to find one esp those in good condition. In the end I managed to find an X8 on SBF. Though not my first choice of an X9 Evo but its another choice. Best of all its in very good condition.

So perhaps u can expand your choices also. I'm 27 and my 3rd party insurance was about 400+.

As for funding, if u buy from shop can settle via COI - installments. If personal purchase online, most of them will indefinately ask for cash. Thats when you most prob need to get a loan from the bank or something.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    Desmond

  4. Hi shekari. Prob you can tow your bike to wonderful motors and let Botak have a look. Most of us here get our bikes to him. You can contact him @ 96936520. Hopefully he can resolve the problem on your bike. Cheers!
  5. Alright. Will be contacting you soon, kinda need some advice on the bike as well.
  6. Hey firestorm! Think I'll prob go look for Botak at Wonderful Motors. Thanks for the info!
  7. I see! Well, my bike is all stock and nothing much has been changed in the past 4 years. Time to do some upkeep... Guess soon I gotta replace my belt, swing arm as well as the 3 rubber stoppers. Haha!
  8. Ok guys! I guess I should have it checked out soon. Good day... Cheers, Desmond
  9. Hi horizoner. Thanks for the info! But does that mean I will have to replace the 3 rubber stops or a certain other part to rectify this problem? More info will be appreciated as I'm kinda new on all this. Cheers, Desmond
  10. Hey guys! Am riding an X8 and I need some advice on the following 2 problems: 1)Got a problem with my rear shocks. Apparently quite boppy and am feeling the road quite a bit. Went to AS Phoon and they say its the Swing Arm that needs to be replaced for about $90+. The mechanic advised not to ride too fast but I'm concerned as to whether it is safe to carry on riding or not. Was thinking if I should go to other shops like the ones mentioned in Kallang which specialise in scooters. 2)Also, went throttling at low speeds, like during heavy traffic for e.g... The bike seems to be vibrating quite strongly before reaching a "biting point" of sorts, once I pick up on speed then the strong vibration goes away. Is this normal or something to do with my belt? Thanks for any info/advice! Cheers, Desmond

  12. Hi all. I just passed my 2B earlier this week and am thinking of getting an X9 Evo. Have always loved the bike and hence need some advice. 1) Where would I be able to find X9 bikes which are in relatively good condition and reasonably priced? 2) What are the key points to check when it comes to viewing or test riding the bike? 3) Seems like a lot of maintanence has to be done to prevent the X9 from trouble. Is it a lot of hassle to upkeep? 4) Lastly, how does one go about buying a 2nd-hand bike? Details... Like insurance, transfer fee, admin fee. Thanks in advance to any guys out there who can give some great advice! Cheers, Desmond
