  1. Anyone selling an original 954 endcan, please send me a PM.
  2. Yes, please let me know where I could look. I can compare prices and decide.
  3. Thanks for the advice. A temporary solution is all I need. A puncture in Singapore can be annoying, but help is usually not too far away. On the other hand, you sometimes hear of cases where riders get stuck with a puncture in the middle of nowhere in Malaysia. They then have to either leave the bike (horror!) or have it towed to get the tyre fixed (can be expensive and very troublesome). I don't have a lot of storage space on my bike, and that is why I want something small. With a tyre repair kit and an inflator, I should be able to get the bike to somewhere where the tyre can be replaced or fixed more permanently. I searched the web. The manufacturer is Genuine Innovations. Their local agent only stocks the smaller model for bicycles. Atvpartsdepot.com sells a complete kit at US$29.99 + shipping (much cheaper than the manufacturer). They do ship internationally, and will get back to me with a quote. http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r260/j_csquare/repairkit.jpg
  4. They come in different sizes: small 12-16 gram cartridges large 45 gram cartridges. The one shown here is the large one. http://www.motohaus.com/acatalog/Monsterairchuck.GIF The manufactures states Monster Air Chuck 5/8" Threaded Top of the line, all metal construction mini CO2 inflator. Fastest of our instant inflation pumps, instant push to connect to for Schrader valves, automatic valve detection. Instant inflation using Genuine Innovations push to inflate technology. Super easy super fast, designed and built especially for the street motorcycle rider. Uses large 5/8" threaded 45-gram CO2 cylinders. Easily inflates large street bike tyres.
  5. Does anybody where I can get a tyre inflator kit as shown below? It uses small CO2 cartridges (2 cartridges should inflate a bike tyre). Nice and compact to store under the seat in case of an emergency! http://www.net-biker.co.uk/acatalog/Monsterairchuck.GIF http://www.net-biker.co.uk/acatalog/45gTcart.GIF http://www.net-biker.co.uk/acatalog/UltraflatePlus.GIF http://www.net-biker.co.uk/acatalog/16gTcart6pk.GIF
  6. Up north in Malaysia, you see lots of Singapore bikers with proper riding gear. At the Sepang MotoGP, every second guy was walking around in full leathers and motorcycle boots. Back home in Singapore, hardly anyone wears protective clothing. I am also guilty, because in the hot Singapore weather, I also sometimes just grab a helmet and a pair of gloves and cross my fingers. It is as if we believe that accidents can only happen in Malaysia, or only when we are travelling at speeds greater than 90 km/h. However, accidents happen when we least expect them, and not only when we are properly prepared for them. In fact, the Hurt study states: 12. Most motorcycle accidents involve a short trip associated with shopping, errands, friends, entertainment or recreation, and the accident is likely to happen in a very short time close to the trip origin. and 16. The median pre-crash speed was 29.8 mph, and the median crash speed was 21.5 mph, and the one-in-a-thousand crash speed is approximately 86 mph. After seeing this case of roadrash, I have decided to change my ways. In future, I will at least wear a full-face helmet, gloves, a mesh jacket and strong, closed shoes every time I get on my bike. I should probably think about boots and pants as well ...
  7. Don't know, but they are probably not nearly as loud.
  8. Have a look & listen at the Sato Racing exhaust for the MT-01 at this link. http://www.satoracing.com/mt01so1.jpg
  9. The single-exhaust CB1300 is gorgeous. I'd love to have one, but I just don't understand the pricing for this bike in Singapore. In Australia, for example, the official prices are: CB1300S (Bol d'Or) $15,390 VFR800 $17,490 CBR1000RR $18,990 Here the CB1300 is more expensive than a VFR and nearly the same price as a Fireblade. Why??
  10. Full-face vs open-face helmets: I got this from http://jeff.dean.home.att.net/swisher.htm : The rider who wore this full-face helmet suffered no serious facial injuries in the crash: http://jeff.dean.home.att.net/swisherhelmet1.jpg The diagrams below show the impact areas on crash-involved motorcycle helmets. (Source: Dietmar Otte, Hannover Medical University, Dept. of Traffic Accident Research, Germany.) Note that 35% of all crashes showed major impact on the chin-bar area. This means that if you ride with an open-face helmet, you are accepting only 65% of the protection that could be available to your head. http://jeff.dean.home.att.net/helmet-impact.jpg Lesson: Wear a full-face helmet!
