  1. From what I know so far, X1 cannot change pipe. X1-r can. But i have heard that there was an X1 rider with a GPR pipe with cert. He bought it somewhere in bukit Batok. You might want to check under the kups X1 thread just to make sure
  2. Hey antartica Im not too sure Im clear about what you are trying to say but yes, I do believe that our education system and curriculum are reviewed once in a while to keep up with the current global needs. At least to an extend the education system does a review more then the drivings schools. Im just guessing here, dont get me wrong please I just want to know if there are others who feel like me. I mean when I was out on the roads for the first time there were many things that I had to learn the hard way that I feel like the drivings schools could at least touch on to give new riders like me a heads up. My examples would be things like lane splitting, in this case the driving schools to encourage it but it is almost a necessity for bikers to do this out on the roads as being stuck in rush hour traffic can be very scary. Another example would be the slowing down upon reaching a traffic light. Most of the time when I do this I neither get horned at or a vehicle would change lane suddenly to avoid me cause them to overtake me when they are very close to me. I hope with that you would have a clear view of what I am trying to put across. I feel the riding schools should add more to their curriculum.
  3. Hi All Thank you so much for all your replies and your views. It is very interesting and gives a lot of insights to other matters when the question has been placed on the line. That being said I would like to stress that there is no right and wrong answer. My main concern regarding this current curriculum in driving schools is not one about attaining experience on the wrong. It is a given that experience is something that cannot be taught. My concern is that most of the things that I have learnt about riding are learnt through reading threads here and not in school which i paid for!. Things like accident management, basic bike maintenance and much much more are learnt here in this websites then in schools. I just feel that being in Singapore and a country with a highly updated education system, we should be granted better education in driving schools and not just basic vehicle control skills.
  4. hey riders I just want to put it out there to everyone something that I have been feeling very strongly about ever since I got my license last year. After my 2B license and my first rider and also the following riders everyday, I generally feel that the riding schools are not doing enough to teach new riders out there about riding. My concern is about road safety, bike safety and also the hazardous roads that we ride on. Eg, about lane spitting. I also feel that the current riding lesson materials and such is outdated to the current riding world. Therefore Im just putting out to see if you guys agree or not that the current riding school systems are not enough to send new riders out on the roads. Maybe this may lead to a formal appeal to driving schools and maybe they will improve on their current curriculum. Better learnt riders sent out are an advantage to both new riders and old riders, so tell me what you think =]
  5. Hi unique Can you please quote and recommend me which air filter is suitable for Yamaha X1 Would like to know the range available. Please pm me thank you
  6. has anybody tried to fit an open port airfilter onto our x1s? any feedback? Cause i wanna try
  7. Hey thanks for the reply. I wonder what brand the shocks are at the auntie shop, any idea? Ah boy selling the stock and GPR ones for $30-50. Then I saw the GAZi ones also
  8. Hey guys, any suggestions of what back suspensions out there good for our bikes?, when I bought the bike was using GPR then realized it was leaking on one side. When to the scrapyard and bought the phantom 200 ones which was good and bouncy but heavy. Thinking of changing, saw an x1 with a yoshi one at carpark, other then that got anyone else with suggestions? Thank and Happy new year!
  9. X1 for low speed cruising while smoking on the 4th lane of the expressway while you admire the trees and flowers and nice cars and bikes overtaking you affordlessly. Oh what a joy
  10. so whats the switch for? I like eva's coverset. and no I do not mean that in any dirty way/
  11. Oh ben, i think you lucky uh because I think my bike alot of owners already like kene gangbang thats why must overhaul. Kana chop or not nevermind la, thing happen already. Pay finish already also. What to do. Anyways, last week I think I saw Eva's bike. She has a button on the right handlebar console. I wonder whats that button for cause my bike dont have.
  12. haha yeah mann, good to know that Im not the only one after all. I think what X1 riders need to remember is that we bought the bike at a cheaper price then any other cubs there eg Spark or X1-r. That being said, its obvious that there is a reason why our bikes are cheaper. Its less powerful then the rest because of the smaller engine. But also that being said, we have certain perks like cheaper parts and stuff like that. So pros and cons.
  13. I did 130 a few times on the way to work. One time, the engine died right after I close the throttle. Overhaul $500++ Lesson learnt. Also found out there was sand in my engine somehow =[
