Hi guys! After much tot i finally got my AD 200. if you guys rem me from the previous AD3 thread.. hahaa! been quite busy recently. congrats all to your new ride! saw a couple of AD 3 in the road already! it looks much nicer than my AD200.... >. I am really impressed with all your DIY stuff... i am not good with all these but am interested to do some mod. hope u guys can give some recommendations and tips! First and most impt.. my windshield is in a bad state... any idea how to restore it? or anywhere i can try to fab one? the OEM is super ex... $800.. plus labor about $1k... need advice desperately.. hahaha! 2) i would like to change the wiper to silicone type. but i can't seem to find a way to dismantle it to change..can i bring to autobac or wat to have it done there? 3) i would like to install a voltmeter any idea where i can get it done? 4) i would like to install a speaker that can direct link to my hp and install a hp holder. dun really want the car type audio... haha! like to free up the space on my AD200. 5) i would like to install the rubber tube thingy to my side fender, where can i get it and should i use silicon to glue it to the fender? 6) Can i trouble ben to order the Dr pully slider 14g? coz my Ad200 seems to be lacking power when moving off and from 40km/hr to 60km/hr.... it is as though i am moving at gear 4 at that speed... total lack of power... after 60 then it is back to normal.. hope the slider would solve that for me... Sorry for the list of questions! Just one observation i made not sure if it is useful to you guys. i use to pump Shell 95 and manage to get about 270km for 10litres. now i tried 98 and manage to get about 290-300km for 10litres. but then again i pay more for the 98 fuel... so u might want to experiment it and do the math to see if it works for you. BTW Hope u all can organise another TTS and i would be glad to join you guys! Cheers!

Having a canvas side rain cover would be useful... if the side cover can be held down when on the move. Any idea if there are any workshop that does customised windscreen? maybe can get them to do a customised side deflector at a cheaper rate.. haha.. $500 + $400 = $900 just for added protection.. O.O

Hi Adiva89 and ben, thanks for sharing your experience. Really appreciate it! think that would be my expectation for the roof as well, able to protect without raincoat for drizzle and showers... thunder storm and heavy rain I think sure will get wet due to cross winds and down pour. My the other concern is for my pillion, as I would normal pillion my gf, wouldn't want her to get wet as well yah.. haha would the roof be able to protect the pillion? Also wonder if there is any aftermarket for the side deflector and the roof side deflector? how much and where to get it? coz OEM is really ex and they dun have the roof side deflector.. I would still probably be incline to get the AD200... hehe! yup. the $7000 is inclusive of insurance, road tax and transfer. Cheers!

Hi guys! just went to Mah just now to look at the AD200 and AD Tre and not sure why the sales ppl there aren't keen to promote it. In fact, I asked 2 Mah ppl (separately) on the rain protection and whether they would recommend it, they reply saying that the roof is not much use, raining days will still need raincoat, unless light drizzle. They test ride the AD Tre on raining days and they say other than the head, the rest will get wet... so I am quite confused now as I am drawn to AD 200 becoz of the rain protection. Is the rain protection that bad for both the rider and pillion? coz I tried on it and the roof does seem a little narrow... Also they mentioned that due to the roof, there is completely no wind and will be very very warm.. is that true? But I did notice that both AD 200 and ADTre comes with air vents in the front. does it help? I am kind of confuse now as rain protection is one of the priority for me.. hope u guys can help to convince me.. haha btw They quote me ard 7000 for FBD plate AD200... worth?

Nope. riding a Yamaha Fino. Similiar situation as adiva89. Saw one Adiva AD200 in Star Vista carpark (maybe it's some guys AD200 here~ haha) and it brings me to this forum. haha!

everytime i get caught in the rain these days, it just makes me want to have ad200 so bad... going down to Mah soon to check out the 2nd hand bikes. Hope to have a good deal! @jasperchc nope it is not auto.. have to manually stow the roof away. but hey its only a 10sec job!

Thanks Ben for the info! Dun think i have the skills to open up the CVT and put it back where it is... haha! Prob would get the sliders first before the Hit clutch. need to find a good lobang for that.
-
Wow.. that is some enlightenment there.. haha! but that also caused more questions.. hee 1) If I change from rollers to the sliders, is it nessassary to change the variator to fit in the sliders? 2) is it better to change the variator, sliders and HiT clutch all at the same time? Or can i upgrade bit by bit? 3) between the sliders and variator vs Hit Clutch, which can give a better acceleration and smoother ride? 4) AD200 is using the SYM 200 engine so i should look for one that fits that ya? 5) How often do you guys change the belt and sliders? currently i am riding fino and i change about every 16,000 - 18,000km. 6) I read that sliders last longer then rollers.. true? if so do i change the belts earlier than the sliders? 7) what sthe price range? and there is a local distributor right? more expensive? Lots of questions.. hope u guys can help abit here... haha thanks thanks!
-
Thanks for the thorough info Adiva89! Whats Dr.pulley Hit Clutch and Sliders ? went google and saw images of the belting and rollers thingy. how does it help? abit noob here.. haha

Can count me in for discount on Mah's 2nd hand AD200?
-
Btw u guys think the AD200 can install AD 3's windscreen? really love the AD3 windscreen.. seems better than AD 200 with the side windscreen. no obstructions.
-
wow the price of the new AD3 200 is almost the same as AD200... Hope the price for AD 200 would drop.. if not I would have to settle for 2nd hand AD200.. hee! not sure if the realise of AD3 would affect 2nd hand market though... Good luck and hope you guys get your AD3 soon! Any lobang for AD 200 can inform me. haha

Did some search on the net and found this comprehensive discussion on Pledge. http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/forum/kawasaki-cruisers/102559-pledge-wax-scientific-overview-long-post-but-worth.html The long and short of it is Pledge is safe for use! and apparently it has very good results! And dun think it contained alcohol, the previous article made a mistake i think. cheers!

Found this webpage about cleaning and protecting windscreen. http://allamericanprod.com/hints.html It is much as what Andre and Ben shared. but it mentioned about not using Pledge, due to alcohol content or smthing. not sure about that. Anybody tried installing protecting films (much like cars one, 3M type) for the windscreens? does it help?
