Thanks! Yeah, it's the parental concern thing. Mine still remind me not to speed when I drive, especially in the middle of the night. Still, I suppose it takes longer to get them to accept this new hobby of mine, considering that I'm a girl.

Meh, will take it easy and see how things work out when I get the cash for a bike.

Mhmm, bikes depreciate the most within the first year of purchase. Way not worth it to buy and sell.

Lol, I don't know how you made it past your 2B days without moving out... I'm quite tempted to at the moment.

Ehhh nooo decapitation, that would very, very disturbing. I was told the rider survived, but he was sitting at the curb side looking guilty as hell. I don't think his gf made it...

Yeah, that's why. No one every wants to tell the good stories cos they are way too boring. Boils down to this: I might be ready to accept the risks involved with riding, but my parents aren't.

Oh well. Slowly slowly, or never at all.

icic slowly lor.i also quarrel quite long like 2 week then they nag all the way thru my 2b days.i also tot of moving out or wat.but nah too young to do tat lah.slowly lor

 I thought it would be dislodged from the body  Well, I prefer to ride alone and even if I had a pillion, I'll let her wear a fullface, at least her brain would be protected and she'll stay pretty even if she doesn't survive. :cheeky:

You might think you're ready to take the risk but do remember you belong to your parents and also the zheng hu. We all do. :dot:

Ehh, I don't think I can make it for the outing. Trying very hard to sort out my priorities this week before I start my APT-dumdumdum-attachment... 6 months. Still no bike.

Beat, I told my mum about the license. She was upset about me hiding it from her, but otherwise quite... alright. As "alright" as a betrayed parent could be. Then, the next day, she came back and told me that she just witnessed a fatal bike accident (I quote, "the girl was in a very odd position, and her foot was twitching. Guy was sitting at the curb, head in his hands,").

She doesn't think it's a waste if I never use my license i.e. no permission granted to ride bike.

Anyway, be prepared for a similar backlash when you finally let your parents in on the secret... There's really no way around it. Let's hope yours are more open to riding, I suppose?

Ah, you drive too?

Oh man, I'm getting worried. =( But I get what you mean. I guess I've to be prepared and everything. Sigh. Haven't got the lisence yet though, see how things go. I'll chill till the problem comes. Haha.

It's like, passing the test is great, but also a problem. =P

I hope the best for you!!!

Moving out = avoiding the problem... Still, once I'm out to uni and living in the dorm, I might be able to get a bike w/o this permission issue coming into play.

Thing is, my aunt sponsored my license. If I go ahead and buy a bike, I might drag her into the quarrel. Very messy issue. Thinking about it pisses me off.

You might think you're ready to take the risk but do remember you belong to your parents and also the zheng hu. We all do. :dot:

Ahaha, viewable corpse still a corpse, sadly...

Too bad about belonging to people. If only the parent-child relationship thing expires after 18y.o, that would be great. I'm desperately in need of a breather from under their (big fat) rule book.

Besides bikes, I'm not allowed to go overseas for reasons other than OCIP and/or school. That plain sucks. Everything in Singapore tastes like army rations.

Yeah, just take it a step at a time for now! Enjoy each moment you get at the driving centre.

Honestly, I was quite... down on the day I got my license, cos it's the last day I'd get to handle a bike for a long while. Anyway, no worries, you can always force your parents to accept your new biking habit by buying a bike first (: Personally, I can't do that, as my aunt sponsored my license, and I do not want to drag her into the quarrel.

Most importantly, let your parents know before you ride -- regardless of the outcome.

Yup, I drive, but it's the family car. Borrowing the car is no fun though -- parking's a problem + nagging + terms & conditions.

I passed already! =) But, like you said, I won't get to handle a bike for a while. I kind of want to take the defensive riding course. Sounds fun!

I hope I get to ride again soon. Ah man. They don't know about my license. Haha. Mm, I hope your parents will accept it soon. Sigh.

I'll find a right time to tell them about it. =/

Ah, family car. I understand. Haha. Chill!!
