treegood: ok, i realised ur H4 is a hi/lo set with a sliding mechanism. Exactly the same one as wat autobacs is selling.

when u on ur high beam, the HID bulb's platform has a slidling mechanism tat moves the HID bulb either slide up/down to make it shine higher a bit.

This is different from Limbat's H4 whereby there is a halogen bulb just next to the HID. When u on ur high beam, the HID ceases and the halogen lights up.

No more regrets.

hi paiseh.thks for e reply.ya mine is e sliding hi/lo HID, e back part of e bulb is very long and very hard to fit into my super4 casing.

so Limbat's HID is using e halogen when hi beam is on? meaning wont get into trouble at rdblk rite...

oh my pic is e other pair tts not fixed on my bike. couldnt find e hi/lo switch so nv take e pic.ha:cheer:

i saw the new hi/low system.., its like a capping which shield the light... low beam.. its cap will shield the top of the bulb... then high beam.. the shield will cover the bottom of the bulb...

unless u go 2 bulbs.. u can allocate 1 as hid n another as halogen...then install a switch on them...

Thank you - saintdudu, I have always advocate the use of onli 1 HID light in a dual headlamp system. There is no legal issue for having HID installed - onli when U use them. So in a dual headlamp system - use the HID when U need them & in SG use the normal halogen. Be responsible & also no need to worry yourself sick over roadblock, fine & whatever so..........

:sian: just wana ask u guys, HIDs lighting is very good for total darkness area. But then does ur HIDs lighting get washout by the yellow street lights or cars travelling besides u, making the HID lights redunant. Any solution to this?

No......Mr. Cheeko............ the brighter HID lights actually make your bike more "visible" to the drivers beside or infront of U.......

The whole idea of "switch on yr light" during yr rides is to make bikes more " visible" o the other road users.

Am I not right Mr. Cheeko ................. I sure hope U dun think I am picking on U again ok ...... I not tulan wif U but sometimes U seems to have something against HIDs ley...... :giddy: :giddy: :giddy:

hi, i used to have a hid set on my bike but took it out due to e constant fear of roadblk. I have e following queries:

1) how does this Zoomlite HID H4 Hi/Lo works

2) wats e cost?

3) do i need to install a switch to swap between hid n H4?

4) Btw does this bulb fit with my current system. attached is my balast n H4 hi/low HID bulb. thks

My avatar is e pic of my old hid..very bright n too attention seeking man.At customs on hid everyone will stare at u.ha

1) Zoomlite H4 Hi/Lo = Lo-HID & Hi-Halogen beam.

2) Pls PM me - I got a used set for sale.

3) Yes I strongly recommend tt.

4) Yes, our H4 Hi/Lo HID Bulbs comes wif matching consealed connectors

for u to fit to your current HIDs System.

All bright lights have those glare - do lower your headlamp casing to compensate - anyway wat we all HIDs user wans is for our lights to shine on the road not anyway else ..............

He was fined 500 bucks for his headlight. My fren say the ROV ppl told him got quite a few accident ppl buang due to misdirected hid headlight beam blind them till momentarily can't see so buang lor.

DC

Misaligned headlight, regardless of it being HID, will blind other road users and cause accident... :cheeky:

That I see as an excuse... of cos the REASON will be illegal modification... :sian:

My experiences on HID on spore road is that the white light produced by the HID in front of us is not really tat 'bright' compared to the yellow light from the street lamps. becoz the lightings on spore rd seriously is more den enough. Thus, it does make HID kinda futile in spore except for the 'wow' factor.

On contrary, u may be able to see a vast difference the moment u r on msia road or while at high speed touring. the brightness of the HID is a very big advantage.

Tat is why i dun see a need to on HID on spore road.

Just to add on a bit... :cheeky:

I think it is not only white light by HID... the same thing will happen to all white light. I think it has something to do with "White" being a combination of all 7 colours i.e. it can be easily "affected" by lights of other colours.

I am VERY sure that cheeko has nothing against HID system. He had experienced bad lighting system and most probably seen unreliable HID system in use.. thus making him lose judgement in how a proper HID system should work... in a nutshell, he is just confused... :cheeky:

Frankly... I sometimes have the feeling that this thread "oversells" the capabilities of a HID system... thus causing a misconception :cheeky:

After HID system installation, a vehicle will/should NOT be the brightest moving object of the road but it will definitely make the vehicle / the road more visible in time of need. :thumb:

Having a lighting system (HID or Not) that is "over-bright" might cause problem for other road users or attract "unwanted" attention... :cheeky:

I guess U R right - Cheeko is a veri veri Careful buyer. I am glad tt finally he has installed a set & now will have 1st hand experience of HID. Cheeko pls share your riding experience wif the HID lighting.

But I dun agree the this thread "over sell" HID. We finally convince Mr. Ckeeko to try a set right & now U have a buyer who will be rating U .... but am sure he will be happy wif his HID lighting. :cheeky: :cheeky: :cheeky:

True.. we did managed to convinced Cheeko to try HID...

When I say overselling, I meant raising the expectation of a potential user of a HID too much....

A person that is totally new to HID might feel that HID is the "ultimate" and "perfect" solution fo ALL lighting problem after reading this thread... :cheeky:
