Yup.. In addition, if the muffler is still registered under another bike, need the bike owner documents to transfer the muffler to your bike..

wad i tryin to say is

Cert A: emission standards/ tech specs of pipe from manufacturer

Cert B : inspection cert of owner/bike tat the exhaust is legal

i know if buy new pipe, definitely need A so u can get B wen u go for inspection

so wad i m asking now is, if i buy a 2nd pipe now, i def will need B to transfer the pipe, but do i need A again ?

yes, you only need 'A'.

you dont bring 'B; is ok, inspection center dont bother about your are using second hand pipe or not, they want the mfg cert to prove the pipe is legal that is.

remember to get the mfg cert when you bought from others.

Hi ppl,

Got this from LTA. Maybe this will help.

Our Ref: LTA/CSV/F20.032.000/9283

Date: 12-JAN-2006

Tel: 1800 2255 582

Fax: 6553 5329

Dear Sir,

INSPECTION OF EXHAUST PIPE

FEEDBACK NUMBER: 320895

Please refer to your enquiry dated 06 Jan 2006.

2 We would like to inform you that LTA allows the replacement of after-market vehicle parts, including exhaust system, as long as it does not adversely affect the safe operation and/or exhaust emissions characteristics of the vehicle, or compromise the safety of vehicle occupants and other road users. The after-market exhaust system should be specifically designed for that particular vehicle make and model and be installed by a qualified person in accordance with the product manufacturer's recommendation.

3 To date, LTA has approved the use of 31 brands of after-market exhaust

systems which include 8 brands for motorcycle. (E.g. Yoshimura, Arrow, Lazer, Akrapovic, Leovince, Micron, GPR and Remus). These after-market exhaust systems have undergone testing, either by the vehicle manufacturer or by independent test laboratories, and have shown to comply with internationally recognised standards that they would not affect the safe operation or exhaust emissions of the vehicles. Every unit of such exhaust systems will come with either an EEC or JMCA certificate to show that it is suitable to be installed for that particular vehicle make and model.

4 However, if you wish to install any after-market exhaust system other than those already approved, you would be required to seek LTA's approval and provide the following documents for our evaluation:

(a) Technical specification and installation details (including pictures/drawings) of the after-market exhaust system;

(b) Certification from the after-market exhaust manufacturer that the replacement exhaust system is suitable to be fitted to your vehicle and would not adversely affect the safe operation and exhaust emission characteristics of the vehicle; and

© Evidence or test reports from the vehicle manufacturer or independent test laboratories (e.g. TUV, DEKRA, VCA or JVIA) to show that the after-market exhaust system had been manufactured and tested according to international recognised standards.

You can forward these documents to the Vehicle Engineering Division of LTA at 10 Sin Ming Drive, Singapore 575701.

5 Alternatively, you may also wish to approach the local distributor for the after market Leovince exhaust system at the following for assistance if you wish to install the exhaust silencer on your motorcycle:

Mr Gianluca Lozzi

G-Max Race

922A East Coast Road

Singapore 459114

Tel: 6742 1948

Fax: 6742 2196

6 Please be informed that every unit of the vehicle fitted with an approved

after-market exhaust system would be required to be produced for an inspection at any of the LTA-authorised inspection centres. The certificate for the after-market exhaust system is also required to be produced for verification during the inspection. Please note that a Vehicle Inspection Type Approval System (VITAS) application fee of $20 and inspection fee of $30 (both exclusive of GST) for each application is payable to the inspection centre for this inspection.

7 We hope that the above clarifies.

Yours sincerely

I am also waiting for my LeoVince pipes for my VFR. Just want to check with you all, when I take out the silencers before I go inspection and it gets approved does that mean I do not have to use the silencers?

no, you take out the muffle, vicom will not do inspection for you.

if you take out muffel after inspection, ROV will take photo of your muffle tip and fine you $500.

if you change the rivet on the muffle to screw for easy removal when you go m'sia, ROV will still fine you.
