I heard a lot saying RS 125 03 model is a beri high maintenance cost bike.. bike for the richiess...

Some riders of RS 125 still defends, stating maintenance as normal as other sport bike.

Any1 can give a detail break down on the cost?

Not just 03.... try to get rs250 lar... suzuki engine actually

Anyway, just some appetizers:

tyres : $200+

valve (breaks easily when ur engine is old) : ~$200

Speedo gear (breaks down super bloody frequently, depending on year of production): $120

piston n rings(wear out quite fast, can hear knocking sound in like 6 mths if u travel a lot) : $200+

big end overhaul (usually about 3-5 years gone leow): up to 1k if change piston oso

Headlamp (fogs out after a few years, sealed unit): $200+?

Maintenane intervals for rs125 lesser than other sport bikes, coz of the level of tuning (pretty much power for a rs125), and the euro currency makes all the parts very expensive!

Actually,in addition to what is established;a golden rule of thumb is if you are rough in the handling(riding) of your bike,it is going to take its toll on maintenance.

Somethings got to give.

My ride is 14 yrs this year.

Is that a NSR125 I see? :)

My colleague used to have one, and a crappy one. Sold off years back for a few hundred.

Nice looking bike and physically slightly bigger than the SP which came on soon after.

Anyway, generally when the bike gets older and passed thru many hands, you sort of now what to expect. Aint no spring chicken already.

Suspension gets soggy, headflamps cracking/fogging, fairings maybe cracked or held by cable ties, engine needs overhaul(piston/rings)...etc

The list goes one...

I have already done mine in the early part of 2007.

I got to say it runs good.

Alot of SP and KR as well as Aprilia and cagiva riders look at my ride like they never seen before.

TZM and TZR riders somehow know about this ride.

Surprising!
