LX 150 throttle problem

Having throttle issues with my 3 year old Lx150.

When riding, bike fails to accelerate any longer and when eventually come to a stop, engine will die off and bike will not start anymore. Towed the bike to tong Aik and Uncle Wee said it might be due to a faulty throttle box problem. He told me to wriggle the throttle box cable if it happens again and true enough it happened a few times and every time the bike die off like before, all I have to do is to wriggle the cable and the bike will start again. Was told that it would cost me $900 to get the throttle box replaced. Any Bros have similar problem?

Very dangerous to ride in such a condition.
