Hi everyone,

I would like to know, whether I can buy a bike in Singapore without driving license. I am currently taking my driving classes in bukit batok driving school. By next month I will be getting my license. But there is a really good deal which I don’t want to miss it. So I wanted to buy that bike asap. Pls can some one provide some light on this issue. I already have an indian driving license with me..i dono if it has any use here:P

Just to give u simple advise, after passed your licence then buy a bike. I read some ppl posted like u. Hands will start itchy start the bike, ride ard in carpark but once QX stop u, that's it. u can forget abt next month driving test and dont be too confidence that u can get license next month so what u have indian licence.. anyway wish u the best for next month test :)

How good a deal is a good deal? Tell me about it. Good prices and good bikes will pop up from time to time... Unless u tell me the bike is sooo very special huh...

Yes you can. As long as there's valid insurance to cover the bike, you can transfer ownership. Since you can't get insurance under your name, you'll need to ask a friend with a valid licence to sign up with you for the insurance. With NTUC, just bring a copy of his IC and licence should be fine, no need for your friend to come down personally, although you should check with your specific insurer. Just don't ride at all till you pass, good luck!

you do not need an insurance like irvworm states. All you need to do is to go to lta and transfer the bike over to your name and lay up the bike at the same time. once u own your licence just send the bike in for inspection and get your insurance.

i have a high tolerance for pain

but very low tolerance for your b*llsh*t
