In the user manual, pg 7. The light switch shows: Off, position light, driving light. On page 55, it shows the "position light" as a small light under the bottom/high beam headlight. It's a smaller 5W bulb. But I don't find this on my ass.

I don't think the fuel indicator is working either; can see it when it powers up, but don't see it during normal operations.

Anyway i got the bike like for 3 days and then I had to fly off for work, so I haven't played around too much with it.

Had some irritating "groaning/croaking" noise that seemed to come from the front. Went back to the shop and spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out where the sound comes from; turns out to be the sound was coming from the battery cover area, removed the battery covers and no noise, put it back and the noise seemed to go away, but I think it was slowly creeping back. Didn't notice any obvious rubbing that's causing the noise.

Many thanks for the explanation.

So you are one of the bikes which had the same problem... was at sam's shop today. Heard him talking abt it.

Dammn! My ass clutch seal leaked... when I went to my bike tis morning the floor is cover with engine oil... didn't knw what when wrong. Called sam to arrange the bike to be towed to his shop. Rushing to office... so drove to work.

I suspected the clutch seal is damaged coz the leakage is from the clutch plate (on the right side/chrome plate) I also had my throttle cable replaced......Just collected my bike from sam place... Total damage = $46 (tow fee, clutch cable, engine oil, seal & workmanship)

I can say Sam give a good price.... Thumps up...:thumb:

Hey bro if you were to notice, the 'sachs logo' on the switch is actually a mere decal pasted over the hole where the light on-off switch is supposed to be!! haha

They pasted the logo there in an attempt to cover up the hole, cos in order for this bike to be legalised here, headlight must be on at all times. Hence the switch mechanism was removed.

If you want, can simply find a switch lever thingy and the light on-off switch can be made to work (my guess) pretty simply.

dude.. the decal part.. i missed it..ke.ke.ke.. didn't noticed. I am comfortable with my lights on while riding... so i tik i will stick on current switch.

Sam was probably talking about my bike, since I'm bought the bike from him and went back for the noise...

Clutch seal leak type issue, not covered under warranty? hehehe :goodluck:

Last time when I was looking at the MadAss, the salesguy at Mah said 6 months warranty. When I went to SAM, he said 1yr warranty? But I did not ask what was covered under warranty.

Can someone tell me what bulb type, and the wattage ratings for the headlight.

It will be marvelous if you can describe the beam pattern too.

Thanks.

Hear there are many asses @ Mah waiting to be repaired. Mainly oil leakage problems... sigh.... seems this bike have the tendancy of leaking.

Noticed my engine seems to be coming out funny sounds.. sometings seems to be loosen.. but have checked the surface and found nothing. Don't know what's wrong, just have to wait for it to break down to know what's happening.

Will be collecting my 135 cc kit next week.. will arrange to install it as soon as i got the time. Perhaps during the installing I will be able to detect what's wrong.

Any guys have the same problem???

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum and have just got my 2B license.

I'm seriously considering this bike because it looks darn cool and exciting, but I'm kinda thinking hard if I can really deal with the practical shortcomings of this bike.

Here are some (silly) questions I'd like to hear your thoughts on:

1) it does not have any helmet lock, so how do you guys deal with it? Do you strap your helmet some other way, or carry your helmets around, or install a bracket with a storage box (and compromise on the looks of the bike)? How secure is that typically?

2) The seat feels kinda small - is it really enough to carry a pillion?

3) I hear a lot about the bike being bumpy on its suspension - is there a way to tweak it such that it provides a more comfortable ride?

4) OTR price seems to be hovering around 5.6-6k at the moment... sounds reasonable?

Q1 - No helmet lock then buy lock loh....use padlock & lock yr helmet. Spend abit more then install a box. Either way security is still the safe... lock yr helmet with padlock.... the thief will cut yr helmet strap & take yr helmet. Put in box.. he will force open yr box. Not secured? Then carry yr helmet with you loh... If you own a $20 helmet.... likely yr helmet will be ard when u collect yr bike..... if u own an "arai" & use a padlock to secure yr helmet... call me... I will be the 1st to "explore" ard yr bike... (ke..ke.ke..) Just joking.

Q2 - It really depends on "How Big yr bum is"??? For me.. so far so good... no problem with any pillions so far.

Q3 - The suspension is adjustable.. so if you wan a lesser stiffer ride.. then you can adjust it. Since u newbie.. go to bike shop ask mech do for u... but if u buying a new ass... let the bike run in 1st... the suspension will be softer after couple of hundred km's...

Q4 - Prices between 5.6 - 6k is reasonable... rember to ask wat the bike shop offers for o.t.r.... they say all in... kater they will say u need to pay for erp unit.. etc..etc...

Hope can assist yr doubts....:goodluck:

Thanks blkjack!

Yeah - practicality will probably dictate that you install a box at the end of the day - but that kinda ruins the looks of the tight "ass" from behind. :D

What about raincoats and stuff? Kinda troublesome if you gotta carry your raincoat in a backpack each time you head out, no? What do you guys normally do if you don't install a box?

Or when it rains just hop on the mrt? :p

Dude..you can't have the best of both world's. U dun want to carry yr stuffs around and dun wish ruin yr ass looks... then i suggest you buy disposable rain coats. Easy carry.. use & throw...ke.ke..ke...

Seriously I had installed a rear box & 2 side boxes.... the look is still ok lah... I can throw all my stuffs in... rain boots..coats.. helmet etc.... all IN...... The raining seasoning is in... it will rain anytime.. dun wan to be catch in the rain without my gears....

Another suggestion is you can install strip bags.. but they usually are not water proof.... heavy rain.. that's it... alll stuffs will be all wet.

Take MRT & squezze with the crowd???? I rather take mc.. stay home.. ha..aha..aha..aha....
