Waitress: Where are you from?

JB: I'm from Singapore.

Waitress: I miss Singapore.

JB: ...

:slapforehead:

Analysis

From the conversation, it appears the waitress is showing interest in JB. Because JB did not drink beer, he did not know how to react. He lost his chance of getting laid.

When in doubt, always say, "Cool, let's shag!" :cheer:

There was once, a woman came to me and said, "I'm the godmother of a son of a millionaire."

Hmm, go figure.

Ok back to reality. Rommel, you following up with LTA on our coil issue? I can search for the receipts if you need em.

Anybody has any idea whether the lemon law applies in Singapore?

A recoiled one can somehow last longer than Electrosport.

Probably Honda don't even know what's causing it. My gf has a friend who works in the press. Let's see.

Meanwhile this is what I think of Honda's attitude with regards to the coil issue.

Hope the journalist willing to take up the story

Think my coil is screwed again, this site is so fricking slow it's almost impossible to post. Posted in 1000rr.net and got some replies. Is this for real? Our bike only charges after 4.5krpm? Link is here

Most prob will visit MT later.

Hi guys,

I've got a volt meter installed on my bike, an 05. Volt reading is always 14v unless fan is on or coil burns. Replaced coils 4 times already in like 14months. Before my coil burns, the volt meter reading would always show 12v no matter how much throttle i apply.

Today there's a new problem, when i started up my bike the reading was at 12v whereas usually it would always rise to 14v whilst warming up. **** man not another burnt coil i thought. Decided to try ride around and found out if i throttle till 4.5krpm, the needle rises slowly to 14v. Anything below 4.5krpm and it would fall to 13v. If idling, back to 12v.

Any idea what's messed up this time? I really hope it's not the coil but maybe the batt or rectifier...

If the 1000rr is the same as the 600rr, the bike doesn't charge the battery till about 5000 rpms.

correct....no charge until you rev to 4500-5000rpm....ironically enough...I tested mine last night....so all is good......though it seems your replacing your coils at an alarming interval......do you have any aftermarket-ish hooked up?

My 1000rr will charge above 13 volts with both headlights on at 1200 rpm. About 1800 rpm is needed to sustain the charge when the fan runs. I can idle all day without problems, except in the summer heat when the radiator coolant flow under the fan might be insufficient to keep it below 250F.

Me thinks you have another burned out stator.

LD, not true. The bike charges as soon as the bike is started, and it is very quick as observed by Ah Koon from MSC and myself during our last KL trip.

Ya i feel the same as that's what i observed, the bike charges immediately when started.

Anyway Andrew has confirmed the 06's coil part number is different from the "improved" batch. And there has not been a burnt "improved" coil so far.

Good news for 2004 & 2005 Bladers.

Have the magnetic flywheel and coil changed. If you're riding an agent bike, go check with BS. Honda has issued a directive on this. Not sure whether it's a recall though.

There is hope if you had bought a parallel import bike. If you do not know how to talk to them, buy me a buffet meal at the Line at Shangri-La and I will do the talking for you. I usually talk better after a full tummy. Heh.

Sorry, had to delete my previous mail to Honda rep as it contains a clue to something potent. Some readers here simply misusing my name at dealerships to bang table.

Tashi, saw ur msg on the other cbr forum about the stator and flywheel. Just to inform all of the forumers here, honda japan, had apparently knew about the solution from quite awhile ago. http://www.fireblades.org/forums/honda-fir...ems-1000rr.html

Anyho, any feedback from guys with recoiled stator? Did you guys put in a heavier gauge with less/same turn?

Thanks for the link Smurf. BS just got the directive recently. It's not a recall. If anyone brings the bike in with the issue, they'll probably ask you to change the flywheel as well at your own expense.

LD's recoiled stator was burnt recently as well.

Cosmos, the Line has got free flow of grilled tiger prawns. Plus for breakfast, they serve sandwiches with my favourite gruyere cheese. GP dun have, heh. The quality of the satay came back after a few complaints. Last week was nice. But the maggi goreng wasn't that good. Must write letter to that makcik and complain. :cheeky:

If you see any nice Dainese stuffs which JR don't carry, let me know. The Rizla Suzuki Dainese jacket is a good buy if you ask me. Any Suzuki fans here?

wat bullshit, there he was reving my bike and the volt reading was not moving. had enough of his bullshit and went to boon siew.
