New coil change at 40706km,...

So it only lasted me arnd 6772km,....

I just got off the phone with Andy. Apparently, those that have changed the coil and flywheel so far have no issues. Honda Japan considers that they have fixed the 04 and 05 Blades already. The US incident is difficult to pin down on the issue, since there is no record of where the coils and flywheel are obtained from.

 

Also, I know there are imitation coils wrapped in Honda packaging floating around in the market. Beware of coils that are not bought from BS. You may be shelling out more money than you should.

 

I hope this is good news for the Bladers.

Saufi, the mag flywheel should be close to $400. Talk to them nicely, maybe they will waive the labour charge out of good will.

 

But where did you get your coil from? Would you know if that is a fake? The coil and flywheel have to be changed by BS in order to get a warranty for the parts.

 

Now, even if you get the mag flywheel from them, and the coil burns in 5 months down the road, you cannot claim warranty. You have a right to cry.

 

Anyway, for some assurance, ask the Stink nicely if he can help you check if your coil is a genuine part.

 

Rather than throwing the coil at glass windows, why don’t you use the Motorshow as a venue. You can parade around naked holding a banner, “Honda stripped me bear”. I will go there and take pictures and help you to post.

 

Looking at the new K7 R1000, it seems if Agustina wears heels, she will be stepping on the exhaust pipe.

 

I still prefer rear centre up exhaust.

Hope it desnt fail me when during my tour to phuket this week

My bike was under waranty when it happened so confirmed they replaced the coil

with a new one which is from them

 

So that's ok

 

About the flywheel they wanted to change mine with a blade 600

 

But it couldn't fit so they fix the old one back

 

I was suprised when you told me regarding the directive

 

I can drop by lunchtime over there but I wouldn't want them to do anything with my bike at the moment as I'm leaving for my touring trip tomorow night

 

Dontt want any last minute problem to happen on my bike

 

Perhaps I should meet them after my trip

Since it is mentioned that changing the flywheel will solve the problem, Honda should issue a directive to us 04 and 05 owners to change with low part cost and free labour.

Friend of mine went there during this season said 80% of the trip was raining

Saufi, BS opens on Sat, but closes at 12pm. If you want them to work on your bike on Sat, better be there by 8am. Be the 1st on the list, otherwise forget it.

 

Me going to BS around 11:50am.

 

Eldo, I'm surprised they wanted to change your flywheel with that from a 600, since they are so strict on warranty claims, a 600 definitely definitely won't do and will void whatever claims. I guess if it benefits them, the story changes. Hmm.

 

I would rather have the flywheel changed. The more miles you put on the Blade, the more likely the coil will get charred, especially you're going all the way to Thailand. By the time you get back, perhaps your coil won't be at 100%. And when you change your flywheel then, it may be too late. Also this trip will be a good opportunity for you to test out the new coil and flywheel combo.

 

Ronald, welcome back. Did you lose your V? Heh.

 

COE for bikes now $1,200, how to buy new bike? I remembered I paid only $10 for my 954, 2 weeks later, it went down to $1. Somehow anything more than $400 is a lot to pay for COE.

Chinggu, try Motorworld, they have those no cut ones. Beagle recently bought one from the Motorshow. They have a booth there.

Thatz the only way to get the warranty since mine was a parallel import bike,...

Wondered if im overcharged,...

Kept the spare coil for emergency since juzt change a couple of dayz back,...

I got my cut frame sliders done at Motorworld, for SGD80, SGD60 for the parts, SGD20 for the labour.

 

The police inspector called me and told me that it was the fault of the taxi driver for my accident in August so they will be taking action against the driver. Happy to hear that.

 

Eldo, the southern Thailand is very quiet now, not much business, so be careful, U will be swarmed with "offers" Ok. Enjoy :

 

Since changing the flywheel can help, maybe I would do it also instead of changing to the dark side vehicle. It should be costly but see how first lah when the K7 bike comes to Singapore or when my coil burn again. Hopefully not.
