Applying for conversion - questions

Hello guys,

 

I am applying for conversion based on by driving licenses from India and Bahrain, where I had owned 350cc and 650cc bikes in the past. Recently, I had rented 650s in Australia and Thailand, so safe to say I know my way around on a higher capacity bike.

 

My questions are as below:

1) On passing BTT, do you get your converted license on the same day? If not, how long?

2) Converting to class 2 - would it be easy since I have my DLs, insurance and ownership cards?

3) Any tips for BTT? Have been reading theory and QnA books by Mighty Minds, and taking a bunch of mock tests online.

1) I'm not sure for converted license, but for new license, usually they provide you with a temporary license upon application, then mail you the actual card within a month's time

2) I've read somewhere before if you want obtain class 2 straight you must prove that you owned a >400cc motorcycle

 

here's what i found on the ecitizen website:

If you wish to ride a larger motorcycle of Class 2A (engine capacity of 201 cc to 400 cc) and Class 2 (engine capacity of 401 cc and above), you need the following:

Documentary proof of training and testing with a larger motorcycle;

Documentary proof of ownership of a larger motorcycle; and

At least 1 year’s of overseas riding experience on the road.

I'm quite curious to know about converting to anything above 2B. Do keep us updated on the progress.

Overheard this conversation of an Australian guy in my Class 2A TP test recently (like a month ago) mentioning that he has a Class 2 equivalent motorcycle license in Australia but only allows him to convert to a Class 2B in Singapore. Hence, he is in the Class 2A TP test.

You will not be able to convert an India licence direct into Class 2. I already tried and was refused. This applies to any country which issues 1 licence to cover any bike size. Luckily I found my old UK licence and used this to convert to Class 2.
