In New Zealand I hold a full license and have ridden for over 20 years. What do I need to do to transfer to get a full license in Singapore? I arrive at the end of July. I understand it is at the discretion of the transport department. Don't want to have to go through all the stages. I had a full license in Singapore 12 years ago. Do you think they will still have record of this? Thanks - Rick

Conversion of Foreign Driving Licence

Steps to do a proper KNNBCCB with middle finger.

1. Bow down slightly, looking intensely at objective

2. Like a raging bull, hop and jog slowly towards objective

3. Take your left palm and slap it hard on the right mid-arm with a SLAP!

4. With charisma, raise right arm, whilst showing middle finger (with left palm trapped in bend right arm)

5. Shout! KNNBCCB

Yes. They do look at license conversions "on a case-by-case basis"

Do you think they will still have record of this?

They probably do.

Don't want to have to go through all the stages. I had a full license in Singapore 12 years ago.

This is a good supporting explanation. To the Traffic Police personnel, that may substantiate as a rider that has enough experience to be having a full "Class 2" license, and thus to be able to ride big bikes in Singapore.

Of course, showing them documented proof gives you a higher chance -- eg. the bikes that you've owned in New Zealand in the form of ownership papers, bike transfers, etc. Anything with a time/date and/or timeline in mind. That's all I can think of now :)

call up LTSA (0800 822 422) and request for a COP (certificate of particulars) for your license. takes 4 days and $9.xx (they take credit card over phone).

bring home that piece of COP and also all the previous certificate of registrations for your previous 250cc+ bikes (after ownership x'fer/reg that comes in the mail).

itemize them in a piece of paper and show them all to the lady at the counter when you convert and include your previous expired class 2 license also.

i hope you're old too, coz it may increase the chances of you getting your 2B or 2. cheers and good luck! no harm trying since it costs less than10 bucks!
