buying bike liao.. but got some doubt

current owner still got loan but i am paying full cash.

 

this sat going to his bike shop to do transfer.

 

1) can bike shop do transfer?

2) i heard from him that after transfer still must go LTA don't know do what...

3) bike shop now no long issue bike log?? after transfer LTA will issue you a cert?

1) yes.

 

2) going to the bikeshop can be for 2 reasons as below. you need to check with the seller.

 

A. to clear remaining installments (can only be done at bikeshop or finance company).

B. do transfer of ownership (can be done at bikeshop or LTA).

 

Technically if both A & B are to be done at bikeshop, there is no need for u nor the seller to go down to LTA at all.

 

3) there is a hardcopy A4 sized printout containing details such as name of vehicle owner, etc. this printout will be given to the person doing the ownership transfer.

 

heard from some of the dealers that the printout can be obtained online as well. but not too sure which website to do so though.

This Will LTA ever issue 'New' Log card? thread might helps but you'll need Singpass in order to access..
