Hi,

I just got my class2B on sept 2016 and I am excited to jump into any motor shop to grab any motor bike i luv. But i know i am limited to CC range 200 and below and I have a budget not more than 5k. Furthermore i am planning for class 2A after a year, so i am not going for $$ bike.

I am sure most new rider would want a simple and cheap bike for a starts before they get a better, meaner bike after obtaining Class 2A or 2 . so mind sharing your recommended first bike to me ?

Thanks in advanceX.

Do not limit yourself to 5k, get a good deal on a bike that can hold its value well, so you can sell off next year and suffer lesser depreciation.

If you really want to limit yourself to 5k, options are pretty limited. You can probably get a bike with 2020 COE, there is pulsar, fz150i, cbf150.... can't think of much more street bikes atm

if u planning to get a 2A the moment u can, just get the cheapest 2B.

Theoretically that wud be a 13+ yr old bike with 1+ years or COE left. This will be a bike that the owner extended COE for 5 years. bike will be totally worthless at the end of 15 years thus u will have an upper hand when negotiating the price. The only problem is demand is high for such bikes so u either need to be fast or offer higher than market price (which is still the cheaper option vs buying other age bikes)

I was initially looking for close to 10 year old bikes that the owner cant afford to renew or choose not to renew COE but such bikes still hold value well because the COE can be renewed for 10 years n resold. Some bike shops r doing this.. then offer loan to increase profits further.
