hi guys i'm 18yrs old on may and i m planning to get my 2b lic with my friend on nov and a bike tgt with him.

is there any good shops that u guys would recomend for 2nd hand nsr150 sp or tzm? i have seen ppl selling sp in here and i find them very good..

but i jus wanna have more options..

any price ranges dat u guys know for SP and TZM in motordiam?,

jus wanna compare with the sellers in here..and is there anything i need to look out for when getting the bike? specifically..

and wads the total cost of getting a bike? example:road tax,insurace(2nd and 1st),IU,ERP,PARKING,ETC..

cuz i wanna start planning early..

And perhaps, it's a bit too soon to decide, who knows next year, there'll be newer, better choices...

Just check at any shop about the machine price.Road tax 6 months is $32 now.Insurance is all depending on your age.If you're 18,should be quite ex.400-500 perhaps?haha.Try asking shops.Its better that wae la dae. :.P

If dun want to ask shop about insurance, you can call NTUC or other insurance like AXA to quote you a price... Ask for the different scenario, i.e first hand, not fully paid ; first hand, fully paid ; second hand, not fully paid ; second hand, fully paid...

before buyin a bike

go to as many shop as possible

no obligation and dont rush into committing

make sure they allow u to start the bike and hear the engine esp if its a resale

dun ever take bike that is "naked" meaning bare

no tank etc and they say they will do swee swee kaw kaw

these kind of shop sure will carrot u n sell u a "sick" bike

 

better still bring along an experience friend along

to ask their opinion when u test the bike

Well, rule of thumb... NEVER RUSH TO BUY A BIKE.... and RIDE SAFE

 

Get an experience friend who knows his stuff to follow you when you shortlisted some bikes..

 

Since you are planning so early.. Its difficult to judge the Premium for the insurances, it kinda changes quite frequently.

 

by the time you and your frd got your licences. it will be a whole different ball game... cause its 2009... pricing for bikes will also change..

yo bro, if possible, go take ur bike license 1st. if nov u enrol + 3 months get license, means u around feb then get license. by the time u buy bike, ur insurance high high already. anyway, im 19 and my insurance is around 620+. my is ntuc 3rd party. hmm, sp and tzm abit old bike ready. think get a ft for sp will be good. actually there are many shops that sell sp. they may be more expensive than forum sellers, but if they give u a 1 month warranty, think should be ok. my friend bought a sp from this forum, for 1650. less than 1 month, the piston or wad spoil, + another 400+ to repair it. + here + there, i think he spend around shop price too. not saying forum is bad, just that see heng suay.

 

and road tax every 6 months or 1 year. around 30+$ for 6 months.

insurance 1st and 2nd pt will be more expensive. think around 800 and above?

iu unit most probably comes with the bike.

erp, see heng suay. sometimes cheap some times more. but after 1030 all close.

parking, go by season parking, or u use coupon. season parking i thnk 15 or 18. hope it helps u.

Bro, concentrate on ur studies 1st lah, after ur 'O' levels then go get a license, after u acquire ur 2b then slowly search for wat bike u want.

A more sedate CBR150 would be a better choice cos SPs & TZMs are dated. CBR parts are more readily available and is less taxing to ride. 4-stroke engine means more reliability.
