i did check from the singtel online shop, and thou they said "Additional $100 applies to existing customers who completed 12-21 months contract. This $100 cannot be offset by any other discount."

but when i log in and tried to add it to my shopping cart, it still show $598 (the same price i was offered at hello shop and the same price tag it was shown before i log in...) Forgoing the $100 at the moment, when i click on the phone, under the promotion tab, it say that there is a $30 discount for purchases from 9pm - 9am. it wasn't displayed on my shopping cart either.

i just think that singtel website is not too user friendly. i wanted to recontract my line to the youth plan, but when i tried to do it online, i can't find the youth plan. if not for the monthly $8 rebate off my bill, i would have jump ship to starhub instead.

starhub 2 years student plan plus omnia 8gb only cost $498. :sian:

What every WM device needs and the first utility on all my WM devices

Tired of sluggish performance due to low memory available caused by Windows Mobile "reduce-to-background-but-still-running" applications that are "closed"?

Then this is the perfect medicine.

At mere 21K bytes, vBar is the world's smallest and fastest Pocket PC Task Manager :o)

vBar is based on the excellent Task Manager WIS Bar version 1.0.4, originally by WIS at http://www.walkers.ne.jp/.

My initial intention is to create something that works with Pocket PC specific feature such as notification. But somehow it turns out like this. I feel that vBar is quite useful as the way it is right now. After everything that is unnecessary is squeezed out, vBar turns out to be the smallest in the world! Wow! In fact, because it consumes so little resource, vBar is also the fastest! So I decided to share it on the web, of course, for free.

vBar certainly has a different flavor than the original WIS Bar. If you need Close and Task Switching in Pocket PC and still want to keep all of the original Pocket PC capabilities such as Notification, etc without suffering any performance slowdown, then vBar is for you.

Follow the instructions here to disable GPRS from enabling when using software.

http://www.htcwiki.com/thread/322365/disable+GPRS+internet+connection?t=anon

Go to: Start -> Settings -> Connections -> Advanced -> Select Networks

From there change the first dropbox to "My Work Network". After that you will only be able to connect by WiFi.

=====================================================================

BE WARNED, your MMS may or may not work properly with GPRS disabled. Do need to try out. If you are savvy enough can try to edit your registry.

=====================================================================

Taken from http://www.ppcsg.com/lofiversion/index.php/t49904.html

Dear all,

Just fiddled with my mini's registry and found that the GPRS can be disabled. This would be pretty useful if u:

1) have absolutely no use for GPRS.

2) have no intention to use GPRS.

3) have been chalking up huge bills for GPRS.

Anyway, if u wanna rid urself of GPRS:

1) Open ur registry editor

2) Go to the key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ConnMgr\Providers\

{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections

\IDEAS Internet (GPRS)\Enabled

3) Edit the key 'Enabled' by double-tapping or otherwise.

4) Change its DWORD Data from '1' to '0'.

5) Go to the key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ConnMgr\Providers\

{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections

\IDEAS WAP (GPRS)\Enabled

6) Edit the key 'Enabled' by double-tapping or otherwise.

7) Change its DWORD Data from '1' to '0'.

8) Soft-reset.

If u really really hate GPRS, u might as well rid urself of the MMS function as well:

1) Open ur registry editor

2) Go to the key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ConnMgr\Providers\

{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections

\IDEAS MMS\Enabled

3) Edit the key 'Enabled' by double-tapping or otherwise.

4) Change its DWORD Data from '1' to '0'.

5) Soft-reset.

Next time u try to connect, u should see some lengthy "cannot connect" message. Good luck http://www.ppcsg.com/style_emoticons/square/smile.gif

i-mate phones has this auto-configurator module that will read your SIM card, ascertain the various MMS / GPRS settings and set your PDA as required.

So the GPRS settings can be removed and restored at anytime you wish...

G-Alarm is a reliable and very powerful alarm clock with probably more features than any other alarm software.

You can define unlimited alarms of different types, you can set your own music files to wake you up (mp3, wma, wav, ogg, mp4, aac), customize the look and optionally choose between two special wake-up mechanisms: if you want to, you can set G-Alarm to force you to guide a ball through mazes or solve a calculation task before you can snooze or stop the alarm.

Of course there are a lot more things you can adjust.

Features:

  • Supported devices: all devices with Windows Mobile 5, Windows Mobile 6 and Windows Mobile 6.1.
  • Multilanguages.
  • Skinnable user interface (Lots of skins are available here).
  • Customizable today plugin which shows you all your alarms and lets you activate or deactivate them with one click.
  • Define unlimited alarms with many options.
  • Choose between different alarm types:
    • Weekdays: select on which days of the week an alarm should go off.
    • One-time alarm.
    • Alarm patterns: you can define more customized alarms (e.g. play the alarm every 4th week on friday at 7:00 PM).
    • Quick alarms: Simply wake me up in x hours.

[*] Define playlists with unlimited mp3/wma/wav files for each alarm.

[*] Force a specific volume if the device is on vibration mode or muted.

    [*] Repeat and playing options:

    • Play alarm for a specific time.
    • Repeat an alarm for x times.
    • Auto-snooze the alarm after a specific time.

[*] Supports all resolutions (VGA, QVGA, WVGA, WQVGA, etc.)

    [*] Power saving methods:

    • You can set to turn off the display after a specific time so you can listen to your music while the device doesn't eat to much battery.
    • The display is turned off if the alarm snoozes.

[*] Tilt sensor support (only on supported devices).

    • Guide the ball through the maze by tilting your device.
    • Snooze the alarm by turning the phone upside down.

[*] Light sensor support (only on supported devices).

    • Snooze the alarm by turning the light on

[*] You can decide wether you want to complete mazes before you can snooze or stop the alarm or not.

[*] See your next alarm in S2U2, TouchFlo3D, Manila2D and others.

http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/3958/scrobbleca3.gif

Scrobble is a fun, free crossword puzzle game for Pocket PC's. It supports up to 4 players, human or CPU, two difficulties, multiple language support, and more.

Scrobble runs best on VGA-resolution displays, but it should also work on QVGA and WVGA displays. Use your device's d-pad to move the board around so you can see all of it.

Notes:

Scrobble plays exactly the same as Scrabble, with the following differences:

  • During the initial drawing of letters, Scrobble ensures that no player will draw all consonants or all vowels.
  • There are no "challenges" (where one player states another player's word is not in the dictionary, and the word is then looked up to verify). All words created must be in the Scrobble dictionary. If they are not, the player must modify their move until all words created in the move are valid. Players can use the Look Up Word tool to check as many words as they wish. If they cannot make a valid move then they must pass their turn, or turn in all letters for 7 new ones and pass their turn.
  • You can play with up to 4 players.
  • Players can only exchange all of their letters at once (there are no partial exchanges where a player chooses only some of their letters to turn in for new ones).
  • At the end of the game, any unused letters in a player's tray count against that player's final score, but do -not- count -towards- the score of the player who went out first (which is the case in Scrabble).

Other than these differences above, and possibly some other minor ones, Scrobble plays exactly like the original board game Scrabble. This includes the rule where the game ends if all players pass their turn two times in row.
