Wa, HJC helmets are not PSB approved?! Then how come they are still selling it? I think the agent has no money to send different sizes and models for destructive testing to get the PSB sticker? ;'(

Alot of helmets are not PSB approved, INCLUDING AGVs, Fox, Airoh, etc... but you can still buy them and risk getting caught by TP and hard to claim insurance if anything happens.

If you were wearing a PSB approved helmet, you could claim enough money to support u thru ur miserable vegetable life, instead of causing your family n relatives to work their arse off just to pay off your bills and needs, not to mention they still need to earn enuff to make ends meet every mth. Its not about died or not died. You can still buy a PSB approved helmet with much better quality. No one said anything about $50 helmets. Although i may sound abit harsh here, but hope you guys understand my serious point of view, its not meant as a flame.

its actualy an chicken n egg issue... how do u noe if ur accident wil end up as head or spine injury? maybe if u wear a psb helmet u died, but non-psb one u spine injury?

 

my point is just that, PSB doesnt mean good, and non-PSB doesnt mean no good... its up to our personal choice...

 

very often, good helmet are non-PSB because they start off with too expensive price, so the agent do not wanna bring them tru PSB cert (another $100 up more).... so u can see Shoei etc no PSB...

 

helmet is not the "only" issue insurance wanna find fault... if they wan, they can find thousand fault w us... example, did u service ur bike well, did u mod ur bike etc... trust me... at the end, if u realy wan claim just go Court to settle... insurance cant play game by just ur helmet...

 

y i know? cos i often deal w insurance in my job hahaha... i am transport officer in my coy with 60 vehicle fleet...

 

PSB helmet issue is a day old issue since SBF day one la.. go search ard plenty... so its okay to have own view n i understand its not flame...

That tiny sticker which u didnt pay for might make u lose coverage of enough $ to buy more than 10000 helmets. You dont need to pay premiums for that sticker so why not? =)

And also those more experienced guys... try to promote these safety issues, especially to newer riders, we're here to guide them the proper LEGAL way of doing things ard here.

 

Even though i SO WANT THAT AGV helmet i saw at regina, and i know its definately better than my dumb helmet, the sales person tell me, its not approved, i also feel so sad but oh well, tough luck. If wanna promote illegal stuff, try using PM okie?

relax bro... as u told divine previously abt his bro n rice issue... we shld giv them freedom of choice as in what is legal and what is not right? For helmet thing, i just feel it is silly to define legal by following PSB standard... i sure most people dun agree with that nanny rulling... (whats more they r not even enforced by TP)...

 

i m just telling them my own view... it is same as people go racing, go Mod their bike with LED or air horn etc... if we all law abiding them i sure none of us will be in SBF liao... right?

 

Those realy good quality helmet in the market mostly no PSB-approved, eg. Shoei, HJC, Shark etc. Why? TP really no enforce them. Insurance just a trick to scare you lar. All PSB big bro scheme... to con money.

 

The only good quality helmet which is PSB approved is Arai... this is actualy same quality as Shoei, but also 200-300 more EX than Shoei...

 

So if I have that kind of money, I would rather go to buy Shoei for my safety...

 

but for general folk, they just go LAB to buy whatever PSB helmet they can find... 100, 200? They think it is PSB n very expensive liao... but is it so? PSB?

Not that i support non-PSB lar... I have Shoei (non-PSB), Caberg (non-PSB), AGV (PSB), LTD (malaysia Sirim), Index (Thai-approved), M-Fizz (LAB approved)... i most scared when I wear those LAB-approved one... but what to do they r cheap... flood the martker...

Yes my brother brought me there once, but I didn't know about PSB approved or not approved. Just thought that all helmets in Singapore would be PSB approved.
