I own both thr HJC FG-JET and AGV K5 JET. My personal opinion on the 2 helmets :

HJC FG-JET

PROS :

-Superb air-flow, owned many open face helmets, this by far is the best. Can really feel the air flow on the top of your head.

-Very value for dollar, Fiberglass shell and internal sun visor for $200.

-Good finishing, paint quality is good and the shell is damn solid. Dropped it many times, no damage except the paint abit scratched.

CONS:

-The helmet wind noise reduction is quite poor, Ah boy’s $80 EVO helmet fared much better in this aspect.

-Visor scratches extremely easily.

-Internal sunvisor tinted level very low, can’t really help much when the sun is glaring at you directly.

AGV K5 JET

PROS:

-Very lightweight and aerodynamic, no bobbing head when wind is strong and during checking blindspots.

-Beautiful design, good paint finishing and a very unique magnetic visor closing system.

-Wind noise reduction is pretty good, can’t hear much wind noise during rides.

CONS:

-Price point is on the high side despite it being a mid-range open face helmet, top up slightly more like $80-$90, can get a premium brand like SHOEI or ARAI.

-Air flow in the helmet is not what I expected, a little bit sparse as compared to HJC.

-The chin strap kinda chokes me a little, not sure if its just me or its a design flaw for the helmet.

Remember to try them first before coming to a decision. Most important is the fitment whether it suits your head shape.
