What is all this homologation issue about? Anyway, RTinc.... all's well that ends well. You got your bike finally, and that's what's important. Enjoy it, and ride safely! Cheers.

Not too sure of the spelling. Homogation is some kind of process with LTA that all new models needs to go thru before LTA's approval. What I know is smoke emission is one of them.

ASPhoon, just only GTS, no Evo. Price wise quite ok, open and transparent.

**Disclaim any relationship with ASPhoon. :thumb:

other them Mah motor...where else got sell SYM.......??

Yes, next bidding is next Wednesday if I am not wrong.

BTW, it was $6.8K (ASPhoon, excl INS) last month when COE was ~$1500, so.... I think it is a bit on the high side.

Got quoted 7.6k OTR today....Hmmm still pondering...

Was told that COE bidding twice a month. Is that true?

Been riding my Joymax 300i Evo for the past 1 week liao. Here is my short review:

Once i collected my bike from MAH, i rode off to Old Tampines Road via KPE using Motoman's Break In methods (60/40 Rule)

The bike felt so light and smooth compared to my monsterous Super 4 with Leo Vince Pipe. I do miss the sound of the exhaust though but the ride was super relaxed. While riding, i noticed that the downwind was rather strong or heavily felt over my helmet. Maybe it is due to my height of 1.86m So my head started bobbing up and down during the journey. I felt scared for a moment as the control method of the bike was totally different from a street bike.

Upon reaching Old Tampines Road. I continued to Open Throttle and Close Throttle as recommended by the website. Within 1 Hour i did about 50km. I started to head home.

The next day i went back to MAH to do my 1st servicing at 72km ( i found this really effective and i did the same for all my bikes cause loose metal will cause abrasion to the motors and the piston lining will not be smooth. It is just like sand blasting the side of the cylinders which i prefer not to) . When requested to do my first servicing, The malay guy directed me to the office to speak to the girl at counter 4 who is presumably in charge of servicing. The girl opened her side window and shouted in chinese " Oi still got one more bike can take or not?" another voice followed at the back replying in chinese "Dont take in already la. too full already". The girl looked at me and said sorry today no vacancy for servicing can come back tomorrow?. I replied " hey! tomorrow i working until 6pm leh. You all close at 6pm how to come and do servicing. Somemore this is my first servicing leh." She paused for a while and said "you wait ah, i call someone" So i waited patiently again. This time round her bigger boss came in and said ok dont worry i will bring you to our another shop which is at the back alley. And so he rode my bike through the shop towards the back alley and talked to the service man there. Upon completion of my first service, i was told to pay for the engine oils. Which i thought as a free servicing it should be free. The man replied saying " sorry only the service charge is free" i was like "WTF" haiz ok la nvm. and paid and left to enjoy more of my bike.

I continue riding my bike and my 12 Liters worth of V-Power lasted me for 378km before it started flashing the fuel signal. I was liak Woah! this is so much more compared to my super 4. This time round the engine seemed abit more powerful and free. I could feel that with a light touch of the accelerator, it started moving freely compared to when i first bought the bike. (this confirmed the breakage of her virginity )

This time i was curious to find out her top speed. so i decided to whack the bike:) (My theory is, It is always good to whack your bike every now and then to stress the engine. This heat combustion will actually cause your engine to change its strengthening properties) i read this some where. And also it is more better to whack a new bike then a old bike which might cause problems due to wear and tear.

People who are skeptical about ruining their engines by doing this are all wrong:). Every manufactured Engine runs at least 40-80km of Stress test before getting a pass for the inspections. This is a secret i learn from a Malaysian friend who works in Proton Factory making car engines. After the inspection they will install the Odometer which is set to 0000 by default. Bike shops are not allowed reveal this secret too.

And so, i went to Old chua chu Kang cemetry at around 10.30pm. This was a fantastic time as the wind was cold and breeze and the roads are clear. I started slowly picking up my speed. 50......60....80...90....110....120....130......140........145 (i think).....This time the tachometer was in reds. Final clocked speed according to the bike's odometer was 145km/hrs.

I was quite pleased with the results... 145km/h was stable when you put your head below he windshield. The bike was not wobbly at all!.

Then i realised, Hmm smaller CC bikes will have a speed differentials, may be i should use my GPS.

So opened my iphone's GPS program( not MAPS)

i started taking records of the different speed vs GPS. Usually GPS will give a more accurate reading. But then again, It is just an iPhone which could not be a precise tool. Really precised GPS costs thousands of dollars.

at Bikes Odometer of 50km/h my GPS showed 46.7km/h

at Bikes Odometer of 80km/h my GPS showed 71.2km/h

at Bikes Odometer of 100/h my GPS showed 93.6km/h

at Bikes Odometer of 140km/h my GPS showed 129.7km/h

So i realised that my Odometer has a 6% differential.

This does not bother me as much cause i still take over many cars and bikes while riding. I do not feel slow at all. Infact i feel really comfortable and happy with my new SYM GTS JOYMAX 300i EVO!

Happy Valentines Day Symians!

You may visit ASP Serangoon branch, their practice is Bike price (fixed) + all fees (almost fixed) + COE (you can set or top up or offset with the actual amount, which I think this is the most fair method) + INS (based on rider's data, almost standard across the board) and they usually provides box, rain coat and helmet(s) as free gift (can nego if you don't want any/all items, more offset :)

Very likely next round of COE will be lower for bike, so you may be in luck to book now.

oh...actually 7.4 OTR..after add box den 7.6k...

yeah man...because of the COE ah...hmmm...shop told me to wait till next COE bidding and see how...

prob should pay AS phoon a visit...hahahaha

Nice to have your review :cheeky:

My suggestions:

1. try loosen and re-tighten whatever screws you/bikeshop can, coz the Sym material is not as solid as Honda, you will like to see loose screws very soon with sudden high heat generated during your test ride, also change to stainless steel screw if you can find the similar type, especially those on the belt cover, engine case area that generates high heat while riding, or you may face missing/broken screws when you need to open out any of these screws.

2. DON'T test/run-in when wet, the sudden temp drop may cause hairline crack on the casing due to uneven temp distribution.

3. You may like to flush your radiator/cooling system after first 6 months to clear all the particle formed/dropped during the first 6 months usage, the default coolant is not that good.

On the part of GPS speed readout, any phone GPS will not gives good reading due to the design is for positioning and not for tracking, so more likely your phone's readout is less accurate than the bike readout (but may not be very accurate too), GPS speed reading always show slower speed, you may get friend driving parallel with you to read speed and compare, especially conti cars, will have more accurate speed readout (type size should not modified).

Free servicing usually NOT including parts, so no choice but anyway EO is cheap.

Yes you are right. Two of my screws under the seat already fall off. So i went to kaki bukit to those hardware shops and changed my nuts to steel. I also added some dead lock washers to prevent it from coming out due to vibration. Problem solved!

Guys by the way while changing the screwes and nuts i spotted a pink tube hanging outside of the engine compartment with white foamy liquid. There is a stopper for preventing the liquid from falling out.

Does anyone know if this is meant to be in this manner or has it fallen off out of its place? and if the thing is meant to be like that. do i have to drain out the white foamy liquid inside the tube every now and then?

Please advice!

Kind of wondering what liquid is that o_O

Anyway just leave it there should be ok, usually those hanging tubes are for overflow/pressure relief, either from carb/injector or fuel pump, I suspect the foamy liquid is for protection/dust prevention.

After extensive research and asking from Mah, i was told that it is connected to Oil filter and Engine Oil. If there are some debri or dirt it will be collected there. Usually during servicing they will also clean that part.

Hi Guys! How are all of you?

Beem really busy with my new job, but am also enjoying my 200i evo! Really save me alot of time, even during raining day, i only wear top rain coat with my jeans and my jean only abit wet. good2.

Still in running in but i didnt really keep to the wide spectum breaking in, as i easily run 70-80 in normal road and 90 in expressway, but i still keep under 110km/hr. Really easy to get with the bike, easy & nice to ride.

Currently running about 100+km already, acturally wanna change EO during sat but it only 20km so tot monday will go during lunch but was too busy with the stuipd new job. Haha think will go this sat! Anyway if im goin MAH for my free service, i just ride into the main entrance right? And park n ask ppl right? Haha no backlane entrance right?

Cheers 2 all!
