The current one im riding which is the carb gts200 gets around 28-30. And this is without box and pillion most of the time. throttle happy style.

not sure about newest fuel injected model (if any). but the older version which is the joyride is more fuel efficient. around 30-32km/l. similar to current riding style hehe

thanks zyrofillica! hmm do you think the new FI model will get even better than your current 28 to 30km/l? i heard FI is supposed to be even lower on FC. but 28 - 30 already very good for maxi scooter.. my former x9 did only 23 to 25km/l..

Darn, my scooter skidded when I was coming down the cemented carpark ramp this morning to the basement carpark. It was raining and I am already going slow, but somehow when I was turning the right bend after a hump, the rear tyre just lost traction with the surface and my scooter went for a 180 turn. I immediately placed both feets on the ground when I felt the rear tyre lose traction as the rear swerved left. When the scooter finally stopped, I was facing the other way. Luckily, no vehicle is following behind close. And my scooter did not fall on the side.

Quite a ride this morning. :faint:

Hi guys, anyone knows where can I get my exhaust pipe protection plate repaired or replaced? Was travelling on lane 1 on PIE on Sunday morning when it came off. Wondering if it is because of my speed plus the rattling of the pipe over a long period that's why it got loose. I had to stop at road shoulder and walk 200m back to retrieve it. :dozed:

hi i'm interested in getting the new sym gts 200. may i find out from riders in forum if this model can get 30km/l or more from maybe shell 95 grade petrol? new or old model more fuel efficient? thank you very much! =)

GTS200 is quite fuel efficient depending on how you ride it actually. My job requires me to meet clients here and there so I have to travel a lot. Sometimes zooming rapidly around and sometimes leisure pace. My average is about 31km/L and I happen to use Shell 95.

Anyone tried SPC before?

woah did donuts in the carpark ah? haha~ hell rider! if concrete floor is wet, i always put both legs down "dragging" along the floor to help prevent low speed skids.

Errr, i think most scooter shops at kallang like taihin and future should be able to help you with your exhaust chrome cover. Actually i woulnt mind mine falling off and then carbon wrap my pipe~ chrome is just.... bleah~

u cant compare a cruiser with a scooter! everyone has their own tastes and needs. go to the phantom thread and sym gts thread to read up on reviews on the respective bikes and draw your own conclusion.

GTS200 , no Clutch but doesn't mean no power :) . Maxi scooter with alot of storage . Go to both threads to find out. Get to know the - and + of both bike and then decide...my 2 cents

read thru the sym cafe, is the exhaust durability really that bad? got mech tell me he has a guy went to repair his exhaust 20 times before scrap..

vibrations also significant at 90km/h?

the salesguy at a shop told me that this bike can travel up to 130km/h, is that true?

Posted

my belt and roller still relatively new, 100km/h still smooth. maybe cos i pump shell 98. Generally any speed above 7.5k rpm will start to feel a bit of vibration for the gts.

exhaust is design defect. stock exhaust will have something break off and vibrating inside. Only remedy is to get aftermarket exhaust or cut open and remove object and wield it shut.

max speed tried is 125 on the speedo which may translate to around 115 actual speed?

U can try go to kitchener road opposite the curry rice coffee shop. There's a key maker, he can duplicate gts200 key. I duplicate mine at there. If u want the original key, u try to go Weida at rowell to see if they have gts200 new key. Hope it help. Cheers.
