How often do you guys wash your bike? Mine seems to be accumulating dirt very easily. Even if I do no ride, just parking in carpark after a day or two rather dirt too. Maybe it is because of the recent haze problem.

Hi guys,

May I know what sort of engine oil does our ride take? I think mine is using Esso but I remember there are what 2T, 4T or don't know what..do you change your own engine oil? What do you use and where to get it (i.e. funnel, type of oil, tray for the used oil, etc.)? Oh and where do u pour the used oil away at? :)

i think 15w40 is d standard engine oil, well there r alot of personal preferances like semi-sync or full sync which is up 2 u 2 decide which 2 use.

we should use 4T as our engine is 4 stokes type. U need a small funnel, tray n a 17mm spanner 2 open d drain plug, u can pour d used oil back 2 d oil container.

I'm considering getting the SYM GTS 200. Went to ask ASP yesterday was quoted 6.6 OTR, he said usually 6.5k but Im 29 so add 100. :( Worse thing is my X9 only take in for 1k.... Sigh... now got headache liao... cos my X9 is now giving me problems and repairing it will cost a lot...

Oh well, anyway, just found out the 2009 version of SYM GTS is out? Called GTS Evo? Anyone seen it in sg yet? Wondering if I should hold out a lil longer so that once the new version is out, the older version price will drop? hehe... any advice?

THE GTS EVO

But the Kymco model Downtown and Excit like nicer to me....but the price is abt 20% more.

The new design looks nicer. But you are right, the Kymco Downtown looks better. This new model doesn't seem to have a 12V charger outlet. :sian:

hi guys, my bike feels as though it is choked or something. Whenever I open throttle until abt 2 to 3 rpm already, my bike still doesn't move off. It is until when I've rev up to about 3 plus coming to 4 then it will move off but it is already too fast by then which ends up like as if I pressed on NOZ or something for a sec.

I heard from my neighbour that it's a choke and we can get something call gas booster or something from this brand call STP to clear the choke and clean our caburator too. We have to know whether our bike is fuel injection or something else though. Is this true? Anyone has experience to share? The STP boosters are to be poured into our tank. Is it true?

Also, does anyone know what is a "four-cycled engine" the same meaning as a "4-stroke engine"?

if it's mineral oil then it's lor... if it's full syn, it's cheap.

for 4 stroke bikes, best recommended is full syn... min semi syn less initial run-in.

see if the bottle write full or semi syn or minerial.

seems that your bike might have too much "free play" on the throttle. could be due carb prob also...

send to a experienced shop to check is the best.

I don't think it is too much free play. Free play refers to the turning of the throttle from its rest position to the position where the rpm starts to increase? In my case, the rpm went from 1 to 2 quickly and normally and after that it sort of like "hangs" between 2 to 3. It will continue to "hang" there unless I turn the throttle a bit more and then it will hit three to 4 very quickly which means my bike may accelerate at a rapid rush kind of reaction such that it will lunge forward. quite scary sometimes so I always keep one hand on the brake. :dozed:

i see i see.... then better send to a experienced shop to check it.....

keep one hand on brake is ok if you don't brake and throttle at the same time... cos that will cos your clutch to slip....

asked Ah Hua at Future Scootering but he says it's ok. But I doubt so because it was never like that before.

I may be buying the STP Complete Cleaning System to add to my tank for some cleaning and then see how. :)

Hi guys, may I know which engine oil should our GTS200 take? Saw there are 0.5L and 1L bottles. Anyone knows? I've attached a photo taken at shell earlier this morning for reference. :)
