At a loss... Advice needed

I had just got into an accident, at an uncontrolled junction. the taxi was exiting from a minor road and i was travelling in a straight road (major road). he failed to notice me approaching n proceeded to exit, i swerved to avoid collision and resulted in a skid. no direct collision. I have a witness who was behind the taxi willing to testify in favor of me.

 

I had made a police report as i got minor injury and mc for 3 days. i approached a motorshop and they said most likely it will be a 50 50 liability. is that true? because the taxi driver will ultimately produce 2 witness that will claim to have witness the incident. it will be hard to prove that these 2 witness were indeed present.

 

Do i wait for the investigating officer (IO) to investigate and reach a conclusion then decide to claim via lawyer or motordiam? or do i proceed to claim immediately?

 

As police report was made, can i still exercise the option of private settlement instead of official claim?

nowday insurance company will play 50-50.

my boss S350 was knock by 1 uncle riding rxk

car was sent to idac for inspection and award to outside contractor

things over liao than insurance company say will only pay 50%.

Yes I agree, 50%-50%. One reason is because there is no contact with taxi. Without any contact, it is difficult to justify that the taxi is at fault.

 

Best to get advice from a lawyer that deals with road traffic accident. I guess he will be able to advice on what next to be done.

 

As for private settlement, it would be quite difficult as TP already involved. To cancel that report is quite difficult. Investigations already proceeding. Please correct me if I am wrong here.

i intend not to go ahead with the repair for now, as it's only scratches on the fairing.

will like to know the investigation outcome before taking any actions
