when i first got my turntables from Wicked records(located at excelsiour shopping centre 'wrong spelling i reckon'), the owner Edwin told me that he is organising DJ courses, maybe you can go down and take a look, friendly chap.

Also, sound spa(located just beside milk bar) is also organising DJ courses by the well known local DJ(resident of Zouk), Andrew Chow. But i heard that their price is pretty high. Good luck and welcome to the DJ realm. *Cheers*

Friendly to u Club DJ are nothing, all they did was just throw the disk and play the music but then u also must know how to catch the BPM ( ohh that is skill lah... ) . I sometime lazy, so just played the nostop CD and after that go to the dance pools and look for girl girl. Wan 2 had more fun, is to play turntables but now aday hardly found, mostly CD only... .

Hi Hugo85,im also djing at home only...for about 3year+...anyway which genre of music you play(like the most)???I play prog-hse,tribal and techno(i love techno most)

Well, I am kinda a newbie compared to you. I just laid my hands on my decks a couple of months ago and to date, I own 6 pieces of vinyl which consisted of different genres. I wanted to get progressive trance but can't seem to find it anywhere. After a month from when I bought my decks, I kept it because O level is coming, this explains the super limited number of vinyls. Oh, by the way, you're using which turntable? Technics? Vestax? Numark(the one i am using now) or whatever it is.

 

By the way, I am more into mixing than scratching.

anyone of u guys here do spin on your PC?? i've seen several software around for mixing but haven't try though. i know it's not as fun as the real thing but just wanna have the hang of it what's it's like.

Its pretty good though, software like PCDJ and mixvibes can be good training for DJ wannabes. Take your time though, DJs need not always spin vinyls, they can also mix songs through PC. when you get better, maybe you can get yourself a CDJ(CD turntable).

i dun have any turntable set coz i usually use my friend hse mk2 or bar mk2 with pioneer dual cd mixer

 

or at home use computer to mix the music

 

hai so sian no music no life...remember i was a one of the top chinese dj online haha that was long time ago...

i use atomix and sometime cool edit pro for the fading part and loop

hmm...i use one for advance one coz my atomix is different version from wat they download...my one is from MOS = Ministry of Sound edition

 

hmm...atomix is gd for beginner also can learn how to use fader,mixer,tune bmp, loop and pull back

 

cool edit pro also about the same gd for beginner...

 

oh the dj most important part is the beat coz you gonna spin and mix with the beat to make the most nice music hahah here we mix it~
