SYM have Fighter 150, ComBiz 125cc, Joyride 200 (170cc), GTS200 (170cc), JoyMax Evo 300 (278cc), MaxSym 400, VS150 Excel 2 - essentially, many scooters to suit different needs.

Kymco distributor here only bring in DT200 (199.8cc), Dink 200 (180cc), Like 200i (180cc), DT300 (299cc), Xciting 300Ri and G.Dink 300 (270cc), MyRoad 700i..... And is noticeably more expensive than its direct SYM competitor....

One thing that baffles me - 125cc top speed 100-120kph, 250cc top speed 140kph, 400cc top speed 160-170kph.

GHC - http://www.ghc.com.sg/

Out of stock though. To be honest, I rather get Majesty 400 for the same money, or MaxSym 400@$12,400 which is a slight copy of the Burgman. Haha. GHC is the distributor for KeeWay scooters, and it was there that I got to know the KeeWay brand =D

Xciting 300Ri/ DT300i 1yr old trade in price $7-8k tops. Don't expect too much. In fact, you'll be happy if other bike shop wants to take in Kymco.

Mah quoted my DT125i at $5k nia.

Kymco low demand, gotta sell cheap then people will buy. Otherwise, SYM is king of the hill now for scooters.

lol in fact majesty was wat suck me in to ride scooter...but i got my sw in the end.... but i quite like the design of burger lol

if it 170 then its not bad for a 400cc...

Haiz.... I think just enjoy my bike in the meantime and decide later ba... who knows the Xciting 400 turn out to be a beast? Otherwise can just change to my burger...

Am waiting for my bike to run in and hopefully can follow any day trip up north if time permit...

Wow not bad le...but not gonna look at anything below 400cc liao la...

actually i kinda miss the smoothness of twin cylinder of SW already....

Fyi, Burgman 400 top speed down hill 175kph, Majesty 400 170kph =)

Actually for me its pretty good enough to be able to go 160++...when you travel 150 on a SW it is still damm smooth lol

Well, Silverwing is afterall a twin cylinder engine.

The rest all single cylinder. But if wanna compare like that, must also compare price also lah. And the practicality also.

For me, I think I'll stick to whichever brand that can give me the most value added.

If Kymco make Twin cylinder for the xciting later after the single how? Must wait another year i guess.

I don't think they'll likely do it in the near future..I could b wrong tho

But Burgman n Majesty has been so long already and yet they r still single...why cant they just find a mate and get married lol

ya exactly...i think it make no sense to me to pay for a burgie when I can own a SW @ that price range...

actually not that kymco is lousy but I'm not used to the vibration generate from a single cylinder scoot.... anyway xciting 400 is not completely out from my mind yet

lol...waiting to see if it's a better scoot than the 300.

Of course Xciting 400 will be better than Xciting 300. But whether or not it's value added, remains to be seen.

I'll still prefer a practical scoot without looks than a stylish scoot but lacks huge storage space.

Not just the looks. The Xciting has upgraded suspension, frame, tyres, brakes, trim and fit/finish over the Downtown. More than a cosmetic makeover.

Hi Bro,

Where can I find those info u mention on the internet? I cant seems to find any info on the net when I google Xciting 400i...

Yea...n practical to me is SW given the big storage under the seat. Of course I know you gonna say burgie is even more practical then lol

The Xciting 400i looks very cool but I think it wont be comfortable riding it for long distance as the windshield is too small to protect us from the element....

Well, if I'm not wrong, Majesty has the largest underseat storage as it stretches from under the front seat to the rear...

End of the day you need to decide what you want in a scooter.

Write down all the points you might want and willing to forgo and shortlist that perfect scooter at that point of time.

Storage, fuel consumption, handling, maintainence, reliability, spare parts support, resale value, top speed, wind protection, city riding, touring, looks and etc...

Only then can you find that closest scoot that fits your need at that point of time.

Your questions are already very intimidating to me lol....

Being my 1st scoot, the SW has serve me well all this 8 yrs+. I oso like the smoothness due to twin cylinder.. I dun mind the pick-up is not as powerful as its other counterpart but high speed cruising has been very stable and smooth. The most shocking part is all this yrs riding it, I have nvr for once change the roller, clutch etc etc except eo n oil filter change. I actually don't even know I'm supposed to anyway until I heard topgear asking me lol.

The main reason I decided for a change is bços of FC. I was hoping to ride something that would give me a better FC and was drawn to Kymco when my mech recommended it. I'm not saying the Xciting is a lousy bike (in fact it not bad a scoot) but the major setback is the vibration as I'm too used to my SW prior to this purchase. My bum actually went numb after riding it for about 45 mins non-stop lol. Maybe its due to the seat I dunno man. The shorter windshield is also doing nothing except more to a cosmetic piece of plastic there.

Having ride the scoot for more than a month, I actually have the itch to switch back to SW but of course I'm still holding back till the Xciting 400 is out and decide wat to do lor but I have to agree handling this Xciting is a breeze and I actually have fun riding it just that I would prefer my SW more tho...

Btw, do you have any idea the difference between SW-T400 and the GT400? I can't seems to find the difference between the 2 except the T-mode on the GT.

Posted
Xciting 400 I like the sporty look.. was hoping it will be as smooth as a single cylinder can go. Pick-up a reasonably powerful is enuf. Hope the riding posture is improve from the 300 version

Maxsym 400 Nvr consider

Burgman 400 The low clearance put me off..read that with a pax its so easy to scratch the bottom going over a humo and being a single cylinder, I'm not sure if I wanna spend that kind of $$

SWT 400 If only the FC is significantly improved.

Majesty 400

Nvr consider

To kongfu: You're not alone with the discomfort with the seats. Come to think of it, I really wonder how I made it to KL. Haha. Probably, the adrenaline in me helped me through.

I weigh 83kg and the seat cushion has soften already after 1yr. Super sian man. Now my knees are raised a little, which makes the seating position really awful to me. When I first got the bike, it was perfect 90 degrees between knees and legs and thigh =D Now, to ride from my house in the North to Changi Airport, can be said to be tiring liao. =(

Also, when I first collected the scoot, the vibrations were hardly noticeable. I was quite amazed. But now, vibrates really noticeably be it at stationary or when riding (especially the floor boards). Hais. If you don't wear gloves, your arm (nevermind your wrist) will hurt after riding due to the vibes through the handlebar.
