I've been riding DT200 for 5 months, so far so good.

Handling wise really top notch, fuel consumption about 27-30km/L(a bit high IMO, maybe due to my habit to throttle high at traffic light.

I see more and more DT on the road now.

This scooter is truly great looking scooter.

At least 10 ppl (nv met before) came to me praised about the bike's looks and enquire price.

Many of my friends/colleagues also say I've got a very good looking scooter

glad to hear that bro... can ask them to contact me should they be interested. hehehe

Just to check if anyone encounter this problem.

Recently I noticed the battery indicator came on while I was riding. This happened on a few occasions so I thought the battery about time liao and decided to let MS have a look. When the old battery was taken out I was quite surprise to see a sticker indicating 23/02/13 (10mth) which I thought was too soon. How long does your battery last btw?

Anyway got it replaced but after one week(yesterday) while riding the battery indicator came on again. Can't be battery issue but what could it be? Should I just ignore it?

Went MS few days back..this time replaced the 'electric fire'. Money spent. Hope this solve the issue.

Recently my friend pass me a left over Malaysia Mobil 1 4Liter 5W50.

I tried it and was very impress with the oil.

I have tried a few oils like

Techron mineral 15W50?

Ipone 15.5 semi

Motul 300V

Redline 5W50 full syn

Nothing beats the mobil 1 car oil 5w50 so far except for motul 300v which is too ex.

So in my opinion for those who wish to try a smooth oil for dt3 or dt2 you can try thsi grade.

Very smooth for cruising in my opinion.

Pickup a bit heavy and not so responsive but cruising I feel is so far the best ive tried.

Then again it maybe an additive that I add also.

No brand additive.

5w50 as some will says it's a very thin oil.

For your reference only ya.

My engine seems to be still running in.

Fuel consumption seems to br getting very good. Recently can hit 29km/L instead of the last 2 years 25km/L

Shouldn't it the other way round?

The oil shd be thicker thus the heavy pick up but smooth for cruising...imo

Ya. That's how I feel but an oil industry person tell me other wise.

He says 5W is a thin oil and 50 is how good it can withstand the heat and the shearing.

Something like that.

What's the most value for money oil then for our scooters?

Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk

GIANT oil should be good enough, just need to change regularly like 2000km-3000km instead of 5000km as recommended maybe?

Giant usually stock the turtle on a drag car - forgot the brand "SNELL"?

They also have MOBIL oil and recently BMW oil called super oil - if i remember correctly.

Safe bet is to use mainstream oil like those most people use.

I know what oil u talking about the turtle on a car. Tot that is car oil, can also use for motor?

Yes. Since our scooter don't use wet clutch like the motorcycle. It is safe for our scooter use.

There is a difference between car and bike oil it seems.

Main difference is the breakdown of oil.

Use synthetic should be relatively safe IMO.

Others will beg to differ in using car oil.

IMO car engine are low revving example of normal cruising speed of 90km/h is about 1800rpm-2000rpm(Estimated)

as compare to bike/scooter of about 4000rpm-6000rpm at 90km/h (Estimate rpm) Just for example.

As you can see the bike/scooter engine will shear the oil faster as in breakdown the oil faster. On the other hand i have question like the cc and the temp of the engine to consider.

Unfortunately no one i can refer as to ask question like this. Base on quantity of oil and cc and temp in my believe is that no matter how, bike is still smaller than car cc. I don't see why bike oil should break down faster than car.

Coffee time!
